  1. well I am thinking of fixing it, and then selling it, but it kills me to put another 4K into it (I think I've spent over 20K on her now - this includes the warranty stuff), and I know I won't get back what I put in, but i've just fixed the dizzy problem, then I think i'm going to need a new clutch, it's just....it gets to a point where I'm feeling defeated, I was feeling that way in the middle of winter and I thought that it was because the car was always dirty, because of the rain, and if I just got through to summer it would be ok....then this happens I think I'm just going to get an A-B car (RX8 or a Liberty STI) and focus on the 2 for a while until I get the itch again....and I'm also thinking of selling the bluebird and buying a cheaper runround as my youngest is getting her licence this year....maybe a honda civic or something.... what really upsets me the most is that i've got all the stuff for my toyoshow display and can't use it
  2. it kills me, but maybe I should sell it, but then what would I get?
  3. f@$k! ok, Vixie was in to get some exhaust manifold bolts helicoiled. It turns out the manifold is rooted, the exhaust housing is cracked, the head is soft, because there's too much heat and the helicoils will keep coming out...the gasket from the turbo to manifold is stuffed too.... so it's going to take two to four weeks to fix it, which means I won't have it ready for TOYOSHOW  on the plus side, my garett fund will be used for a new turbo/manifold system, although I don't think there's $4000 in there  so that's the update, and it's not good news.... :( and I've had a cry and messed up my makeup, and now I'm without a car for the next 4 weeks and i'm stuck driving the crapbird :(
  4. spotted this a couple of days ago... I kinda like it....it's a big arse car though...even for a bentley
  5. it's a lot of fun (well until the boy's testosterone gets the better of them!!) there's a ripper of a cuise, then there's the dyno (good to know so you can boast or cringe at your figures), and finally the show and shine day... loudest exhaust (so you know if you need to be wary of the popo), sound off (so you know the point where your ears will bleed), and then there's the checking out everyone else's rides and getting ideas on more mods you can do to your car, (or not do)... it really is a fun weekend |blink| I've got a new marquee which is twice as big as last years, i think clint has the banner, everyone needs to bring chairs...we'll need to think about food and drinks (and sunscreen)
  6. ok, so I calmed down a bit and PM'd him via another forum... what do you guys think?: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- My name is Lesley, I own VIXEN. My attention was drawn to your post on the AE86 Club by a friend of mine and I felt compelled to give you the facts so that you are better informed and by being so, don't misinform other people. I understand that my car is not your and your club’s cup of tea, and that is fine, I like it and that's what counts. HOWEVER when it comes to Toyoshow I want to make a few things PERFECTLY CLEAR: 1. I am not associated in anyway with the organisers, the sponsors, the club or the committee. 2. I enter the show and display my car to the best of my ability 3. I am not involved in any shows any more than a competitor 4. I have NO relationship with anyone involved with the running of the event or the people involved in the committee or the club 5. My car was judged by independent, non-affiliated, non biased judges and found to be better presented/displayed on the day (in 2007 and 2008) and Second in 2006. I go to the effort of cleaning my car on a weekly basis, maintaining it regularly and detailing it properly before every show. I’d appreciate it if you refrain from perpetuating the lies and bad feelings that are being generated (you're a moderator for the AE86 forum and I'd expect a better example from someone in this position). If you’d like to discuss this further, you are more than welcome to do so via PM. With kind regards, Lesley (owner of VIXEN) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7. I have NO control over the judging...that's just it, I'm a standard entrant just like anyone else!!! Which frustrates the hell out of me... oh, that and they bitch about me winning when they don't enter....
  8. WGMG: people with their heads so far up their ass it's not funny, oh, and also people who don't know what the hell they're talking about, such as this moron from AE86 Drivers Club - and he's a moderator for christ's sake! :::: So this here's for you SLIDE86 - you sir, are an IDIOT! Pull your head out of your arse and get your facts straight. I am not involved in any shows any more than a competitor; I have no relationship with any judges, nor am I associated with the committee members from the club that holds the event or the people running the event, I AM however, passionate about my car, and present it to the best of mine and it's ability, just because it's not a "foolysik 86 drifta" does not make it any less special, it's a LIMITED EDITION and I dare say I've competed in and won or placed in more car shows than you. You are a snot nosed moron::::: 5th January 2010, 09:32 PM #3336 slide86 Moderator Join Date: Nov 2008 Posts: 578 specially when you are on the judging panel for said show __________________
  9. you keep popping up in the weirdest places :) I actually had a huffy moment, I said to my passenger, GOD it's not like I even moved! he was way twitchey!!! I think we need a special rollaclub wave or something :D
  10. another update: the cruise is TOMORROW night (Saturday) :)
  11. Good on you! It's always good when someone who likes/loves animals finds your pet, cares for it and returns it, I'd be devistated if I lost my dog, Microchipping FTW!!!!
  12. maybe you could join the cruise with the Ben Simpson Memorial Cruise, it's on Saturday 30th http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=37446
  13. well this doesn't really GMG's it's more of a..... well, um... anyway... http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...5006301,00.html
  14. WGMG: Crap like this: http://dsc.adelaidenow.news.com.au/m/an.as...name=Hoon+Watch are you kidding me????
  15. oh! is it an A Frame one?? i'm happy to buy it (hubby's car needs one) ;)
  16. oh ;) how horrible, sad and distressing, they must have been flying to break the tree off at it's base, poor families, and stupid dumbarse for driving with that much alcohol in his system.... (oh but notice that the vehicle wasn't a high performance import?) I've drilled it into my kids NOT TO GET INTO A CAR with someone that's been drinking, or doing drugs, and if they feel unsafe, they can call me at any time to come and get them, no questions asked. I would much rather be woken up with a 2am phone call saying "can you come and get me" rather than a knock on the door with the police saying "i'm sorry...." Stay safe on the roads people
  17. WGMG: saving money in one area (seatbelt) and thinking of all the cool stuff I could do to the rolla, AND THEN FINDING THIS: see the chip in the headlight? it's about 3 cm across different angle... the bit that chipped off that's inside the headlight..
  18. well I don't know THAT! technically it wasn't removed from the vehicle...and it isn't frayed.... Oh and Dale: sorry to hear that you were held up
  19. it's amazing what one man (who owed me a favor) and tools can do....he fixed the seatbelt!!! apparently it had (this is the technical version) "clicked out" and he "clicked it back in". So now I'm one less p'd off woman who's saved $225 which means $225 more to spend on the corolla
  20. JIP...it's illegal to purchase second hand seat belts...
  21. My youngest daughter doesn't really have a passion for cars, (this isn't the WGMG) and sometimes, she does things without thinking.... and I don't particulalry care about the Crapbird.....but this tops the fricken cake: WGMG: the seatbelt somehow got stuck in the door and she pulled and pulled on it and got the retractable seatbelt ALL THE WAY OUT, then continued to pull it.... result: no more retractable seatbelt....now it's going to cost $225!!! for a replacement (Nissan no longer supply parts - and replacement parts are only in one colour... dark charcoal.... while my seatbelts are light grey.... I know it wasn't on purpose, and accidents happen, but she didn't even SAY anything when she was having a problem with it, she only said afterwards, "uhhh Lesley, something happened" .... yeah YOU happened to the seatbelt!!!! I'm not pissed off with her, (ok maybe a little bit) I'm more annoyed that to get it replaced is such a headfu**
  22. some possible things: take it to a dealership and ask them to put it on the diagnostic set up, there could be something more to the story and it might through up an error code (this happened to me) which makes life easy if it will. you could TRY a replacement distributor (costs about $85 it's the same as the non turbo AE112) mines been running with the new one for about 4 months, no more problems  there are tons of resistors on the board of your ecu and each one triggers a different fault if it's faulty, this can be time consuming and frustrating (Sportivo_65) or damn right annoying (as in terminals' case).
