  2. oh! this is an AWESOME toaster :) "Official" Battlestar Galactica LED Toaster Toasters that burn an image into toast are generally a total snoozefest, but we're impressed with the Battlestar Galactica LED Chrome Toaster made exclusively for Comic-Con 2009 in San Diego. Limited to only to 2,000 units, it fittingly features a moving red LED cyclon eye, and is available only on NBC's online store for $90. It would pair perfectly with the Cylon Coffee Pot Model 0001 and the Starbuck's Fresh Roasted Cylon coffee mug. We're impressed with the attention to detail — note that that numbering on top of the toaster is set in Bank Gothic, the same typeface as the one used throughout the series: info from: http://www.eatmedaily.com/2009/07/official...ca-led-toaster/
  3. oh, yes, a bit embarrassed about that :) , hubby was front seat driving pointing out someone braking on the on ramp, when I looked forward I realised I might not be able to stop nicely, so I dropped it down a gear and got into the original spot I was planning on getting into, then I realised I'd lost a bit of speed so tromped it, then I was doing the speed limit, but the car in front of me had slowed down, so I jumped into the outside lane and in a fit of pique put the boot in.
  4. http://www.carsales.com.au/news/2009/sport...-supercar-17139 Lexus LFA supercar Toyota's luxury car company, Lexus, has taken the wraps off its exotic V10-engined 412kW coupe One of the stars of the 2009 Tokyo motor show is undoubtedly the all-new Lexus LFA, a V10-powered supercar that shows Toyota's luxury brand is serious about performance. It's got all the makings of an exotic performance car -- an aggressive, aerodynamic form, a cabin crafted from carbon fibre reinforced plastic, and extensive use of lightweight metal components, such as magnesium, titanium and aluminum alloys -- and 'that' 10-cylinder engine. The two-seater supercar is scheduled to go into production at the end of 2010 and is powered by a 4.8-litre V10 with an eyebrow-raising 9000rpm redline. Only 500 units will be produced and eventually sold. Peak power from the Lexus-developed 10-cylinder lump -- known internally as the 1LR-GUE -- is 412kW at 8700rpm and the engine is recessed deep into the engine bay to improve weight distribution. The full tech specs are as follows: Engine: V10 Displacement: 4805 cc Maximum power: 412kW @ 8700rpm Maximum torque: 480Nm @ 6800rpm Transmission: Six-speed ASG (Automated Sequential Gearbox) Maximum speed: 325km/h Acceleration (0-100km/h): 3.7secs The front-mounted V10 engine drives the rear wheels via a new six-speed automated sequential gearbox -- complete with steering wheel paddle shifters -- that has a quartet of selectable driving modes (from chilled out to flat out) and is claimed to deliver upshift speeds of 0.2 seconds. Furthermore, the new V10 engine features titanium valves and ultra-light rocker arms with a "diamond-like coating" that, combined with an integrated lower crankcase, helps to keep pumping losses at high revs to a minimum. In essence, the engine should deliver solid acceleration until it butts heads with the rev limiter. Lexus claims the bespoke 10-cylinder powerplant cranks out 90 per cent of its 480Nm of torque between 3700rpm and 9000rpm which, together with its low-slung form and light 1480kg kerb weight, would help account for its 325km/h top speed. The exhaust system creates a "unique, exciting and inspired soundtrack" via equal-length exhaust manifolds and dual exhaust system, not to mention a multistage titanium main muffler. The induction acoustics haven't been neglected either, with 10 individual throttle bodies linked to an acoustically tuned surge tank. Matching the engine's blistering 3.7sec 0-100km/h acceleration are "track-sized" carbon ceramic disc brakes at each corner of the LFA, which combine with an electronically controlled braking system to provide "ultra-powerful yet stable" deceleration. The Japanese supercar makes use of dry sump engine lubrication to reduce oil surge under high G-forces, and the car's balance has been optimised by placing weighty components (such as the transmission and fuel tank) inside its 2.6-metre wheelbase. Meanwhile the lighter components, such as the radiator and electric fans, are located behind the rear axle. This would explain the need for the bold air vents located above and below the trailing edges of the doors. Even the driver's seat has been positioned as far inboard as possible to lower the car's centre of gravity, and Lexus has managed to achieve a front-to-rear weight distribution of 48:52. The LFA features front double-wishbone suspension and a rear multilink suspension setup that, together with Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM), "provide a high level of vehicle stability and preventative safety without interfering with the driver's intentions, especially when sport driving." The Lexus LFA's dimensions are as follows: Length: 4505mm Width: 1895mm Height: 1220mm Wheelbase: 2605mm Track (front/rear): 1580mm / 1570mm Weight: 1480kg Seating: 2 With an exterior design that appears to have a similar profile to the Toyota Supra of the late 1990s, albeit with more modern styling cues, the Lexus LFA's design is the result of detailed aerodynamic engineering. Measuring just over 4.5 metres long, the Japanese two-seater super coupe features a flat underbody and a significant rear diffuser to promote a smooth airflow underneath the vehicle. A speed-controlled rear wing helps increase downforce over the rear axle and "allows precise vehicle response at all vehicle speeds" says Lexus. The interior of the two-seater supercar boasts a cutting-edge digitised instrument panel that is linked to a directional control pad on the steering wheel to cycle through its various systems. The LFA also appears to have a system similar to the Lexus RX series 'Remote Touch' Haptic Interface. Leather bucket seats speak of Lexus' luxury heritage and a leather-on-carbonfibre flat bottom steering wheel. Production on the Lexus LFA will begin at the end of 2010 and sales are expected to begin in 2011. Pricing is expected to be around €250,000, which is about A$405,000 or US$375,000. There is also talk of a track-focussed special edition model in 2012.
  5. lol... Still Alive.. Glados :2thumbs:
  6. oh I have a WGMG! my husband snores, it's quite bad, and I've complained about it for about 4 years, the last two years I've been telling him how bad his snoring and sleep apnoea are and he recently had a sleep study, today he was told it was surprising that he hasn't had a stroke a heart attack or a grand maal seizure as it's "the worst result" any one has seen. ANYWAY we went to get a CPAP machine today and the lady looked at the paperwork and looked at me and gave me sympathy, I mean, he's the one with the problem, they weren't doing anything to ease his fears, litterally just ignoring him!!!! she just said "OMG how do you put up with it?" and "you know that's grounds for divorce don't you?" (this was in reference to the loudness of his snoring.... 75 dB!!!!! (the reading only goes up to 70 and he maxed it out, and they say it's a conservative 75, it could be higher!). we were a little dazed as within 3 hours he was told he may lose his licence, that he may have a heart attack and then the lady's joking.... I hope the machine does it's job...actually, it's quiet... better go check on him...
  7. bwaaa hahaha stick on with highly adhesive 3M tape.... OMG *facepalm*
  8. awww! congratulations!! and way to go with only 4 hour labour!! beautiful name, can't wait to see happy snaps :lolcry:
  9. ohhh choices :lolcry: may go to one or the other.....
  10. It's weird, last week I was driving along, sedately, I was pretty much just cruising down the freeway at 100 in the middle lane, came upon a slower moving car, indicated, changed lanes, passed him, indicated, went back into the middle lane, got to the tunnel, and they'd caught up because I'd slowed down to the posted speed limit of 90 and I looked over at the other car, not frowing or anything, just noting where they were, and the passenger gave me the finger and was pulling faces at me.... I was like WTF?! what was all that about?!
  11. yeah, but remember there were three of them... how did they expect to fit the go cart AND a passenger in the back seat ... what dumb-arses!
  12. that's a gorgeous looking car... good pick up :)
  13. WGMG: Vet bills.... I took my dog to the vet to have him groomed as he found something dead somewhere and rolled in it....and I wasn't touching him...gross little dog... ANYWAY he has this thing growing out of his tail, it looks like a claw, but it's actually hard hairs or something that looks like a nail, and I was brushing his tail and it got caught in the brush and I managed to pull it off, (I didn't realise it was attached), ANYHOO he's had two more grow since then and I've had the vet look at it once before and had the dog tested etc., and this current one I left on to show the vet SO i had the old one in a baggie and showed it to the vet, meanwhile the dog is going spastic cause he needs to pee (he'd been at the vet's all day) but he never left the floor of the vet's office and, all i wanted to ask him was if my dog could have an operation to remove whatever is making it grow, answer: YES; it took under 3 minutes. I paid the bill, was distracted cause the dog was going nuts needing to pee, and I got a quote for the dog's operation...$401! just going through the paperwork (today's been a HUGE day) and they charged me $58 for a consult... less than three minutes, and he didn't even look at the dog, just answered my question.... I'm slightly pissed off!
  14. ^^^ I got pulled over three times by my stalker cop, it annoyed the crap out of me so much I went to the police station to complain about him. Luckily I know the policemen at the station I went to, because he gave it to me straight.... basically it went like this "this policeman keeps pulling me over for nothing! It's embarrasing and then he doesn't even give me a ticket!" Mr Policeman: well Lesley, he's obviously not pulling you over for nothing, and you're lucky he's not given you a ticket. Fair call, *I* think it's stupid that I got pulled over for having my driving lights on....but they ARE illegal and I COULD have been given a ticket, even though I *DID* give the policeman a hard time....I was lucky. This last year, I've been a bit more sedate.... I was watching uh Highway Patrol or something, it's about the NSW Police Highway patrol, MAN they get given a LOT of crap!!!! And when you're in trouble and you need them, they're there, I appreciate their role in society :jamie:
  15. naawwwww :jamie: bummer but it shouldn't be all THAT hard to get it through Regency???
  16. Heya! Awsome pics!!! Thank you RA28GT and Gust ;) LilDvl83 - absolutely GORGEOUS paint work, can't wait to see that pink pearl in the day time!!!!! and thanks Tom for organising (and great cruise sheet's BTW). Looking forward to the next one
  17. the cast iron exhaust manifold (which is what you're looking at under the heat shield) are crap and notorious for cracking, I'd be comparing the one you bought to the one that's on there, and if it's the same and also if you think you got a bargain, put it somewhere, cause I can almost guarantee that if you're going to own the car for longer than a year, you're exhaust manifold is going to crack....(i've been through two of them)
  18. i saw this last week, the day that my Angus burger wasn't in my order, from the Frewville store, after I got home and I thought *bloody bastards!* but then I googled it, and came up with this: http://www.hoax-slayer.com/mDonalds-caught-out.shtml
  19. hey Luke very tidy ;) I like the number plate idea.... oh and banana paddle pops is spot on for the colour!!!
  20. You know...you've been complaining about your supervisor for a really long time....I think you should tell your line manager (the one above your supervisors manager) and tell them about all the dodgy stuff he's been up to and see if you can resolve it....all this angst because of him can't be good for you....
  21. i don't like it  it looks as though it's on steroids... the only nice thing I can say about it is it's red...I like red ;)
