  1. Cool number plates are cool.
  2. I get midweek days off so we should sort out a date that we can all get down there, I'd just love to get some relative times! I saw that, bastard. I saw the post about 20 minutes too late... I'm now going down the route of getting a new one. Costly little ʞ©$ɟers...
  3. What's your roster? 2 on 2 off? I picked one up tonight for 150 with tail shaft! Series one unfortunately so I'll have to take it to fab to get the sway bar mounts welded on. No biggie. I think freshen the T series up and throw it in straight away because mine diff isn't loving life right now and then save some bucks to throw an LSD in there. Thanks for the input/info for that Jono, much appreciated, I think T series was always going to be inevitable... it's way too easy... EDIT: Rian, you in for Sep 17?
  4. It's looking like the T series will be the way to go after looking in depth at the hilux and 31 options - a little overkill for what I'm working with I believe. Time to source a diff... I have just booked my licenses and spot for the sprints on the 17th (Wednesday) of September at Lakeside Raceway, kicks off around mid day. License - 55 Cost for entry - 135. I'd love to see some other Corollas out there on the day! Link - http://qldraceways.com.au/calendar/event_view_popup.php?event_id=5184&ret_link=reader.php?cal_monthDate=2014-09
  5. A lot has happened in the last couple of weeks. I managed to tidy the car up enough to pass a legitimate roadworthy inspection - finally got me some QLD registration and slapped my new plates on the thing - photos to come. Tomorrow I'm spending the day cleaning up my wheels and organising sandblasting and chroming on the bars that have been laying dormant. General servicing has been completed, I really need to drop another couple of bucks on this car to really get it gripping the way I want it to, the rear end needs attention - I need to do more reading up on Hilux rear ends to help with the age old debate of what diff to run. LSD would be ideal but will cost my newly created house fund a pretty penny. Please, discuss.
  6. Terrific work mate. This is now my favourite thread to look out for - keep it up!
  7. http://qldraceways.com.au/calendar/event_view_popup.php?event_id=5184&ret_link=reader.php?cal_monthDate=2014-09 I'm organising all my stuff to hopefully be at that one.
  8. I dunno if dragging my rig would be anything close to worth it. I think it'd probably also be depressing picking up 15 second tickets. I want corners!
  9. I can't see that on the QR Calendar, got a link? I'm 110% keen if on Wednesday session + ALDI helmet.
  10. My current days off are Tuesday and Wednesday so I'd be looking at lining it up with one of those days or having enough time to get the boss to trade my shifts around. I'll see if theres any open club days at QR coming up! EDIT: http://www.qldraceways.com.au/sprints-getting-started
  11. Thanks mate, I'm glad! Just a larger internal fuel pump and new fuel lines - nothing crazy at all. Added anything else wouldn't be to beneficial in this application in my opinion, it would just be overkill on the stock motor. Personally not at all, I don't drive this car out of the normal daily work commute too often. I've honestly never had an issue with the Queensland Po-Po in any of my corollas. Then again, my cars are never slammed, are well maintained and always somewhere at least close to roadworthy condition.

I'm in. Car is running sweet.
  13. Ummmm, so I don't have any form of proof apart from the word of my two good friends... But umm - I live right near some really nice winding roads But ahhhh, an M3 BMW may or may not have initiated some form of chase, and ummm, he got away from me on the straight (absolutely smashed me), but I spent 1-2 kms on his arse while he was hammering it through the bends. I did some research - it looks like it was a 2012 M3... could be off by a year or two. But the 2012 looks identical to the one I chased. It was burnt orange in colour - nice looking car. I'm absolutely shattered that I haven't picked up a GoPro just yet - I would have loved to have that on tape. Carsales ad of same model Hell, they're only worth 120k+, why would it get away from my 3k+ Corolla?
  14. Welcome! I love me a nice KE20. Looking forward to some good pictures and some progress.
  15. To be registered legitimately an Engineers Cert. is required in Victoria - then RWC. In Vic there is no modplates or similar system. As long as modifications are done to satisfactory roadworthy standards - you're good to go, I believe.
  16. Definitely needed to be plated - even the guy issuing my modplates was confused around the point of building a coilover around a factory strut. I'm still under the impression that if it's an altered component it will need a plate - I like being covered regardless. All mod plated for seats, suspension and engine. $230 all up. Best quote I had on the Gold Coast. I really want to sink my teeth in to something decent - contemplating buying a motor to build. Happy snaps
  17. No vertical stickers at the current moment - good idea though. I'll design one next time I have a bit of time.
  18. That was also my take on it - I was also under the impression if the part wasn't native to the car it had to be plated. The person I spoke to was definitely under the impression that if the coilover was built around the factory strut then a modplate wasn't necessary. Keep in mind that she obviously didn't have a plating license as she was a little unsure. I will be getting a definite answer on that one when the guy comes out to have a look.
  19. New number plates arrived this week - so I'm finally getting around to modplating and registering the thing. Modplates are booked in for Wednesday then I will be racing to get a Roadworthy and then slapping the new plates on. Found people on the Gold Coast for a great price on the modplating, the lady on the phone also said because I have used a 'standard' component in the process of building the coilovers I may not need a plate for them. However for the point of covering my arse and it being 86 gear, I will have them plated regardless, I'll ask the guy when he comes around regarding that one none the less.
  20. I went through these guys - great customer service and terrific postage times. http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/kyb-765016
  21. I absolutely love these crowns - yours looks awesome. Makes me wish I didn't pass one up when I had the chance to grab it.
  22. Yep - negative side of coil. I know my Panelvan definitely didn't have a native negative ignition wire in the loom - I wouldn't be surprised if the KE30 was the same.
  23. It's a real shame, because it's easily one of my favourite forums to scan through. The boys on there have some terrific write ups on various things and most of the population seem to be incredibly helpful. That's the most recent thread I could find as well, I'll send off a few PMs tonight. Thanks for the help.
