  1. Thanks ancullen  I'll try my best to make this little beast a fine example of Corolla Quality :) In answer to your questions.. the name for HIM is Shere Khan, the mighty tiger from the Jungle Book. And as previous stated I will be running a 5K motor which I will see how much I can work it before it dies on me, and by that time, I will have decided what EFI engine I intend on throwing in, and whether or not it will be a boosted motor :D And Grim, I'm glad I inspired you to make up a new section for crazy guys/girls like us that enjoy blowing bucks on our wheels :( And having photographic evidence as proof of it all too! hahahahaha
  2. Thanks for the reply guys :) Basically, the engine looks like it's gonna be a worked 5K moto and a Celica steel case 5 speed and diff to match. The stereo will be back, as there WILL be no back seat. It's gonna end up a 2 seater  No walls, just a big display... you'll see. Everything will stay intact as the car will be completely sound deadened from roof to floor. Color... Tiger Mica (of course) Wheels... Momo Sports 17s (If I can't source them, then the ANZ Vegas "Momo replicas") Keeping in mind that this will have to be re-registered, I will get the inside SD'nd and new carpet laid. Power cabling, speaker wires and RCA's will be placed but not fixed as yet. (Don't wanna rock up to VICROADS with no back seat and 3 x 12s in replacement! I don't think that'll get me on the road. hahaha) :( More details later...
  3. Ladies and Gentlemen... I bought this potential beast up for $300 and it drives, it has a 5 speed in it and it is the same build year as my birth year! (1981) Needless to say I can't wait to start on it. It's a KE55 Corolla CS It has a couple of rust spots on replaceable parts... but my main work is on the rear windscreen. It has rust spots in the bottom corners, which is common on the Corollas, as are underneath the taillights. But that's nothing the angle grinder and a can of bog won't fix  The body is pretty much straight. It's a 4K-C motor (but not for long!). I know it ain't the cleanest example but hey, what $300 buy is these days? I'll take better pics of it when I actually pick it up (tomorrow morning) In this thread I will show the build up as it goes along. The stereo install will be featured in the Car Audio thread.
  4. Hurricane and Genie. I think Pacemaker stopped doing it for them. Not too sure about Redback... maybe worth a try to find out.
  5. True... True.... Oh well, it's just a crazy thought, as you may have figured out by now most of mine are crazy thoughts. Some may work, others are just ludachrist! Usually, all a mad scientist needs to hear is a crazy thought from some forum and he'll be busy for the next years or so working on a beast! hahaha
  6. Best advise out... shop around, but not with big name places. The guys that done my exhaust were Midas in Thomastown. The only reason why I went there is they worked on my cousin's cars and they spent mega bucks over there and they looked after me... well.... it is steep I know, but they do sting you for labor too, don't forget. So all up I thought $650 supplied/fitted and under warranty was not bad.
  7. What are the specs on it? Only thing I'm thinking of though is me paying taxes on it and stuff for international freight. But hey, if I don't like the prices I'm getting here, who knows.... could be a worthy option (rubs chin and grins)
  8. For Genie Terminators extractors, 2" all the way piping, hot dog, resonator, rear sports muffler and 3" tip, I paid $650 fitted with warranty through Midas. So yeah, that sounds about right. If you want one price that would be reasonable, ring up George from Mr. Muffler Man in Epping (03 9401 1988) and tell him you were reffered from John, Anthony's brother. He'll look after you, I'm sure.
  9. Super Jamie, thanks heaps for that link. That was very informative. Gives me something to think about. Thanks guys for all your imput on this thread
  10. This is going off topic I know, but it i one of my enquiries, which I may as well keep in this thread, save me starting a new one. What are the motors out of the TA22 Celicas? Would one of these puppies fit and would it be worth it (power gain wise)? With the steel case gearbox and diff to suit?
  11. Actually I have to admit, there was 1 ET turbo I was ever impressed with. It was my mates Sapphire Blue (ET5000) that ran a high 12 seconds off the standard turbo!!!! He had everything just about done to the engine on this, from pistons to crank, cams, lifters, the head, valves and svalve prings, gearbox, the works.... he didn't have the time to get a hi flow T25 and by then, he sold it. That car boogied and actually got me into ETs for a while there. But anyways... back on topic So, is anybody gonna fit an SR20DET and show pics or what????
  12. Corolla 2 points ET 0 points hahahahahahaha. Good call dude
  13. 12A Bridgeport. You'll be moving in no time!
  14. I actually prefer the chrome bumper front end to the current. I'd say change it... but apparently, I have 9 people disagreeing with me, according to your poll
  15. An ET is purely a bigger home for Nemo... at least give him something fun to play with! Ouch! Can't half tell I prefer my Rollas! :(
  16. That's a killer! Has to be a wog wedding! hahahahaha I can get away with saying that, as I'm maco
  17. Save the CA18DET for ET Turbo conversions. You really wanna impress me though.. have the full GTiR running gear in a rolla. Yep, all wheel drivetrain and all :( Major bash work to the floor I'd imagine... but how fun would that be.. An all wheel drive rolla!
  18. I was actually going to suggst an RB20DET motor. I've always been a big fan of the RB series engines. If a guy stuffed a 1GTTE 2.0l six in a KE30... then I don't see why the RB20DET wouldn't work. One guy ripped hiw RB30 out of his VL and installed an RB20DET and he is seeing well over 200kw at the wheels (dollars later of course)
  19. I have access to 2 x PSR100 and 1 x PSR150 amps (Kenwood) The PSR100 amps are 2 x 50 (perfect for splits and 6x9s) and the PSR150 is a good amp for an entry level 10" that only needs say 150 to 200wrms to run. If you want them, let me know and I can organise prices
  20. Stereo, aye????? I'm all ears... what does he want? Just kidding! But if there is a hand required with choice of stereo or install tips.. give us a yell, I ain't too far :( Nah, it's coming along real well. A nice dark tint and a suspension drop would get that "wow" look about it. What size wheels are going on this? Actually.. what wheels are going on it is what I should be asking?
  21. No doubt if you spent $15K on a CA18 and $15K on an SR20... you'd see the winner clearly out of the 2 for horsepower!
  22. Excellent color for it. This is gonna look hot as once it's complete! Sprayed by Flinstones Panel Works :(
  23. Well as was said earlier, if one of these motors ever went into a rolla, anything above a T28 is suicide. A high flow T25 can put some smiles on faces these days (for small motors, that is ie: E15DET)
