The torque-steer should be just about sorted in a car that newly designed... Not like mum's old 2.4L Pintara... would spin the wheels in 3rd, and it re-defined the term "torque steer"!!

There was a white !!!KE16 PANELVAN!!! sitting ina padock up behind Burnie in Tasmania a few years back. It appeared to be regoed and in pretty good nick!! I wanted it sooooo BAD!!! Hmm... I wonder if its still there?? :)
-
Damn!!! Thats got a WHOLE lotta attitude!!
-
Lowering block are bad apparently... Torsional strain on the leaves. Wiki says stuff about it, Soooper jamie or Nick knows.

^^ I concur... 5-6k RPM. Rev it til you can feel that its not pulling anymore, then grab the next cog!!
-
Brendo, Is the sticker on the back: "What I lack in Bore and Stroke, I make up for in RPM"?? If so, I'm sure as eggs that your KE1x used to be pale blu with vinyl top and has been doing the hillclimb/circuit racing here for years. Cosworth pistons is the rumour too :)

We pulled about {Nominal speed 1}... My speedo was re-calibrated for the 18in wheels, and its dead accurate. More impressive was the fact that she was just slipping into top gear at {Nominal speed 2}!! I think the 230kmh 'limited' is kinda like the R33 GTR being "206kW" Documented, but not completely true. She did however stop on a limiter, coz it still had about 1200rpm to go before the rev limiter at that speed.

Sex is the REAL weapon of mass destruction!! It is the devil, and it ruins ALOT of lives, and creates ALOT of issues!! But with sex being so accessible (porn, strip-clubs, legalised prostitution and going out specifically to 'pull-a-root" etc), and played upon so viciously by media (If you see a commercial, and think its got a dirty/sexual nature... It has, its not just your dirty mind!! Sex is THE most influential media tool available!!), it is never gonna be the monogamous, sacred thing it once was, or is meant to be. And us 70's and early 80's babies have our free-lovin', tree-huggin', pot-smokin' hippy parents to thank the majority of it!! See Ms Sydney, Told you lecture two would happen :)

Been a streets fan since Mike Skinner was doing UK Garage (UK Garridge :) ) "The Irony of it All" on Original Pirate Material is an absoulte laugh, and that track that JC807 refers to. Mike's 2 most recent albums follow a story: "A grand don't come for free" Was his daily life, and how his mates stole 1000 pounds off him that was savings for a drug deal. He started seeing this chick, and she cheated on him with one of his best mates. He gets pissed off at the world, but then it all starts to come right for him again. the latest one, unsure of its name (and can't be stuffed googling) is about how fame isn't all its cracked up to be. Listening to him say basically "I feel like a wanker in these expensive clothes and driving my ferrari, but f.ck you, I have earned it" is great. Love the streets!! But i'll say it now, it ain't everyone's cup o' tea.

My BMW got done too, several times!! The most recent was key 'circle work' on the bonnet, then all the way down the passenger's side... every panel. Thankfully the 16yo paintwork was still tough as the day it was sprayed, and the majority of the key-work was polished out!! Still they stole my one-off titanuim valve caps, (A mate machined them up by hand for me... one of a kind set!!!) and kicked the fog light so hard that it broke off its mounts!! The BMW foglights are a sight to behold... Big long thing made of about 100 parts!! And super tough construction. They must've booted the absolute shit out of it to do the damage they did. Yeah, pick on my car you wankers... It's not gonna fight back and smash you knee-caps!!

My E34 BMW is the quickest road car... Luxury, and warp-factor capability (tho I don't like doing it..) The 323 rallycar was (apparently) clocked at about 240km/h on gravel!! I only got as far as 160km/h, but topped 200kmh down the back straight at symmons. Acceleration was awesome, as long as it was kept on boost, and she was quicker up Barrington hillclimb than a turbo 911, and hot on the heels of a local EVO5!! I was told that the 1/4 mile for the 323 should have been a low 12!! :) I can all but dream what a current WRC car would be like!!

I had bendix advances with new fluid (DOT4 ELF racing fluid as used in my rallycar), new rotors, and cleaned top condition calipers... Never had an issue, and very minimal fade. Used to push pretty hard too!! I was told there was no 'performance' pad for a KE.

My old BF1062 Familia (4WD Turbo 323) had the insane ex-works motor in it. However, the stock gearbox was all wrong for the massive turbo... Lag, lag, lag upto 4500RPM, then !!!BANG!!! Oxygen masks please!!! Next gear.... lag lag lag upto 4500rpm then !!!BANG!!! oxygen masks please!! This was a nightmare on gravel, as she'd spool up in 3rd, about 100-120km/h, and spin all 4 wheels!! Not good for racing, as thru corners, she'd drop off powerband, and had no power to pull you thru the corner!! Not cool!! Young and stupid... (In hindsight) I should have swapped to a smaller turbo!! But alas... Turbo envy!! Bigger is better. Not when you can't drive it properly, its not!!

Daily driver factor doesn't make the 'CIG Locker' such a good idea. :) Hmmm... They have a bad habit of breaking axles then tho don't they?? Anyone heard of filling your diff with SIKAFLEX as opposed to alloy-fillling or welding??
-
There should be more of it!! Ex-works rallycars FTW!!! :)
-
I'd love to be able to drift like a madman... I guess open-wheel-diff + stock 4k power doesn't really = ultimate, user-friendly drift piggie!! (+ the fact Gir is still licking wounds after being maliciously attacked by that deer!!!) :)
-
Either way, a credit to the builder of the clone... even fooled me!! Tho I'm not sure if either had the reputed 265BHP of the works cars??
-
Nice pics Fook!! The red E-type is a couple of mates of mine. The LHD Datsun 240RS is apparently an ex-works WRC grp B car!! The RHD is a clone. And the CAMS sticker.... Right where CAMS actually is; In the fu.kin TOILET!! Great pics mate... Glad it all went well for you guys :P
-
Nitephyre... That look great!! Do you bring the cocaine and bitches in that pimp mobile too!!! :P
-
Did I read correctly?? ROTARY MERCEDES-BENZ?? ZOMG!!! How rude!!
-
Would have loved to see Glenney win this one... He nearly did it a few years back in that stock-standard black R33GTR. In-car of him airborne on The Sideling is pretty memorable!!
-
No worries Man, Bit of a shame my stage got canned!! We lost too much time after we had some inbred wanker drive down to the start control AGAINST THE DIRECTION of the stage!! We were mere minutes from sending in "zero Tango" too. He pulled the tape down from his gate (without reading the attached A4 sized flyer with info as to what was happening), and proceded to 'go to the shops'... With his 5 or 6 yo daughter in the front seat WITHOUT a seatbelt on!! Could have been very nasty!! How did you guys place?? Happy with overall results??

B6T is a great motor, my old rallycar was a 4wd ADM 323. The motor was ex-works, and about 250BHP!! Watch the gearbox in the 323 Dyzza, easier to break than a supermodel!! :P
