  1. cool cheers guys. if i find the problem ill let ya know for future reference. more than likely ill fix the problem somehow and not know what caused it but hey...
  2. hoping to get most of the rwc stuff sorted out over the xmas break. And try get the 5 speed in too. Sooner the better I say.
  3. every time. i've tried using the clutch different thinking it may be a quirk but na. high rev's, low rev's, doesn't matter.
  4. yeah totally as far as i know. and has a 4 speed in it. it was originally 5 speed but gear ratios are the same till 5th yeah? Its done a heap of k's but been well serviced(so the chick who sold me it said). And still peppy when driving, as much as a dead stock rolla motor can be. Just that initial 5-10 meters when in first from stationary, then kinda pops into GO mode.
  5. looks like it has as much bog and rust as my ke70...
  6. angle grinders solve everything. My next door neighbour back in NZ cut new tread into his tyres with one. What a tripper.
  7. when i put my foot down to take off she accelerates really slow for about 2 seconds then picks up. I noticed the accelerator cable is a bit slack but wouldnt think this would be a problem. Would a good carby clean help? Fuel pump? New plugs leads? All of the above? Just old? It only happens from standing start. I was prob gonna do all the afore mentioned things at some stage but if there is someone who has had the same problem and can narrow it down.. cheers guys.
  8. hey yáll. been on this for a few months and havent said hi to you all. Names Reed, I'm living up on the sunny coast in beerwah. Bought a beige ke70 about 6 months ago (my third one, sold my last one for beer money, was slant front auto anyway). It has all the original chrome and 13"jellies. Oh and a push start button...ha ha. Currently tooling away on it in the garage whenever i have time, getting through the bits of rust and small shopping trolley dents, i've got a 5 speed to drop in it when i can find a spare pair of hands. Just bought brand new black carpet and interior bits and pieces, remaking the door cards myself. Got some brand spanker tail lights, shiny! can't wait to get it legal and "rolling" so i can hook up with some of you's on a cruise. (Anyone know a friendly mechanic?) If not i can bring my *sigh* 89 Laser Giha hatch. If anyones local and wants a hand on their cars let me know, I'm only learning as i go but i can crank a spanner as good as the next guy. And a second pair of skinned knuckles always helps.
  9. NAME: Reed CAR: 82 ke70, no name yet, ideas? Motor & Driveline: 1.3 standard Suspension & Brakes: Standard Wheels & Tyres: 13" jellies. Interior: New black carpet, currently changing it all out to black, remaking door cards myself. Body: Typical. Usual acne in the usual places, filling it with bog. New taillights. other: Has a push start button, soooo Aston Martin :D getting a gear knob with push start. I'm a Top Gun ha ha ha
  10. thanks heaps for this page. a few of the links don't seem to work... all good tho. Ill bookmark this for future reference. More worried about getting mine road legal at the moment...
  11. yeah i was wanting to totally matt black my ke70. I'm not looking to do it original. I want to know if anyone knows interior acesssories from other cars that may fit...in black. AT the moment its that terrible beige. I'm keen to do it all by myself, if i have too, but if there are other car bits that fit and someone has already found out... I.E: The rubber trims around the doors that hold on the kick panels and the roof liner on? And yes i understand its not to your taste and I'm cheap not getting custom parts but its what "I" like and I'm just asking. Advice not abuse please...... I'm handy so if there are parts that can be modified let me know. Thanks.
  12. so does anyone know a good ratio front to back and what model falcon springs i need?
  13. cheers ke70 dave. ill grab the falcon springs. do they have to be from a particular year/model? I kinda thought the chop check method would be the answer, its just tedious.
  14. just as a hypothetical discussion, say in some alternate universe I decided to cut the springs on my ke70 to lower it, does anyone have a theory of how many quarter/half/full coils that should be removed front and rear for approx. 50mm of lowering.
  15. just scored brand new pair off ebay with bulb holders, rubber seal, bulbs and wiring for 130 bucks. Which seems reasonable considering the 45 dollar repco ones would have no bulb holders or wiring.
  16. only had time to run in and found out about the lights, they are 45 each but they only have lefts and they wont have rights for 6 months...
  17. I'm going to check out repco this afternoon ill post what they have.
  18. i almost laughed in his face, he claimed it was a classic so thats why was so expensive.. I said i could get them off the net for 130, he said good luck. Go the repco...
  19. yeah for sure. i don't relly mind as long as cheaper than that wrecker! Plus just bought a house and got all my bond back from the flat and the missus said spend half of it on whatever you want. Hello quads.
  20. thats what I'm hoping. some places can get anal about the little things. Would be nice to have totally fresh everything tho.
  21. yeah i kinda need the whole unit too. mine arnt s**t but not the best. But does it affect a rwc?
  22. oh ok. thats cool tho think the rwc guys are only worried bout cracked lens'. Thanks heaps owe you guys a beer...
  23. awesome thats so sweet bro. can't believe that guy tried to rip me for 110 each! You guys are talking the whole unit aye, not just lens covers....
  24. are ya serious? Repco? Cheers bro ill try them! Many thanks.
  25. are these parts worth it. Ive been hunting around for tail lights for my KE70 for ages and keep getting prices that are astronomical(wreckers). Has anyone bought these parts? I found some overrated ones at a local wrecker and he wanted 110 each. Thailand parts i found for 130 a pair including postage and they look brand new.
