  1. Hi guys, I've recently bought a 1988 corolla with a 4ac and it's acting up quite a bit. When it's completely cold it will start up with no problem, but when it's hot it is very temperamental, sometimes it will start sometimes it won't. It's getting very annoying as it's leaving me stranded a lot and I have to get picked up. Any ideas why this would be happening any information would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
  2. Need help lowering a ae71/Te72/ke70 Wagon, can’t find anything for the rear leaf spring, been to 5 shops and not one had the right ubolts I needed, does anyone know of a kit so I can lower my wagon? She sits on enkei 92’s but I’d love to go lower and slam her on some 14’s
  3. Hi guys, as the topic suggests my 4ac stalls once it is warm while coming to a stop (e.g: pulling up to an intersection). On occasion when stopping, the car will idle at around 500-700 rpm, and other times it will idle fine. I have realised that it only happen on really cold days. During summer the car ran fine and I hadn't had this issue for 6 or so months but it seems to have come back now that weather is getting cooler. The problem is really annoying. I have read the thread about one of the diaphragms in the carby being faulty but I'm not 100 percent sure this is the issue. I am certain though that this is a carb issue. The carby has had a vacuum delete. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. Hey all, I have recently come into possession of an 1984 model ke70 and the starter motor has seemed to have a pretty hard life and has decided to give out. So now I'm chasing a starter motor for it, I have called up all the local wreckers and haven't been able to come across anything except an ae82 with a 4ac. I was wondering if the starter motor off this would fit my 4k or would even the internals swap over into the 4k starter motor? Thanks for any help
  5. Hi all, recently purchased the above vehicle and gave it a full major service including rebuilding the carby, and it ran fine for a week, but recently have gotten some gremlins. Firstly before I took it in for a service it would stall under acceleration after lagging and spluttering, and when I got it back it ran fine for about a week and has since started up again. It had trouble starting yesterday so I left it, came back in the arvo started it and let it idle awhile and all seemed normal. Then this morning started it let it warm up and then took off for work - got about halfway there and again the spluttering then dying engine and battery light coming on. Started it a few times, occaisionally would crank and crank but no power, other times it would start but as soon as I put my foot down it would hesitate and splutter again then die. I'm at a loss as to what could be causing this, can anyone offer advice?? Cheers!

    Coils

    HI everyone, i was bored that other night so i started researching coils and read a few diffenet things. Currently my car (4ac powered) has a Bosch GT40 coil in it. I've read around that this coil is suitable for cars with electronic ignition, something my car doesnt have and that a GT40R is a better coil for the job. Recently i've had a few issues with my car that may be ignition related. So i guess i have two questions. 1. What is the difference between the two coils, 2, Which coil should i have on my car. thanks guys
