I decided to replace my front shockies due to a major leak which caused a failed warrant of fitness. So i ripped into bnt and ordered a full set thinking all would be all cool.... Backs went in piece of piss... But to cut a long story short the front struts were completely different to the ones that i ordered. Apparently the ones i ordered were factory Carina inserts, but they have no seat for the spring?! Surely i shouldn't have to weld one on? so I'm guessing somebody along the line has converted the fronts to ke70 struts maybe?! I'll attach the struts in comparison and the list the part numbers. Because both struts have different part # Any help on the part numbers would be ideal! Please and thank you(:

Hey Everyone, I have been meandering through previous threads and come across a general opinion. A lot of advice on suspension setup for these KE1x is geared/directed towards "high performance". I'm wondering if there is straight swaps for the struts on the front and rear that wont lower, raise stiffen etc the ride but rather keep it as intended by Toyota. I'm in the process of lookin at struts and the only ones i seem to be able to find are Pedders. (listed below) Front Shocks 8778 Pedders Cartridge Rear Shock 8032 Pedders Shock Absorber Rear Shackle Bushes / Kits EP8118 KIT REAR SPRING REAR EYE & SHACKLE I was quoted 560 just in parts, which seems a bit excessive. does anyone know of a better alternative? I've got a set of Ae86 struts that have been converted into coilovers but I'm not happy with the quality. Essentially I want to replace the cut and welded stock tube with a new not-welded tube with a nice new gland nut thread cut in the top (threads damaged currently). The strut tube doesn't appear to be welded to spindle casting, so I was wondering if anyone had tried removing it with a bit of heat. I'd like to know before I go ripping the suspension out of my car preferably. Thanks -
Just wondering if there is any difference between the xt130 sedan and xt130 wagons front struts, hubs and steering knuckles? Cheers

Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade the shockers in the front of my ke55 and have been told that the size of the strut tube must be 51mm to fit the ones that i'm after. I've been told that these struts are found in ke70's but when i measured one it only measured up to 46mm. Can anyone tell me if there is a certain year or type that these struts came out in the ke70's, or if it was another type of strut out of another car altogether? Cheers.
