Update, although only a small one.

I have been working at getting it straight over the past two days (although I have only been able to work 1/2 days

on the car due to work). I will be spraying primer again over the next few days and I can see it all improving, although

it will not be perfect when I first register it.

Some areas have had crap work done on them in the past (which blasting and other techniques have revealed), so this makes

things a little more difficult for me. Over the next little while I will get them to an acceptable standard, and then when I come into some

money down the track I will buy a good bonnet and bootlid.

Note, all dents that can be seen here were heavily filled with bog.^^

My current progress.

Next week I hopefully will be able to borrow a mates slide hammer to reduce the dents on the bootlid and bonnet, and then i will go

from there.

Sure does !

I found even more problems today (although I still felt as though I was progressing). Spraying the whole car in primer

will be longer off than expected, but I will get a better result by being patient and putting in the hard yards now.

Here is a bit of an update.

Below are a few pics of baremetalling, primer work and also some highfill. I have progressed a bit since these

were taken but still have a more work before it is all ready for primer.

Another overdue update;

Over the past month or so I have been spending an hour here and there on getting the doors straight. Hopefully

after a little more work tomorrow they will be in primer and close to topcoat once more.

In the last week I have been trying to get a bootlid and apron from Pete Robinson, but he has not been

around much. Hopefully I will get them in the next week or so, and then I can baremetal and etch prime them.

Today and yesterday I got a few areas in primer and then painted black this morning. I also spent a bit of time tidying the car up by

painting the leaf mounts, rear seam welds, and exhaust tip black (along with a few other bits) so they blend in nicely.

With any luck I will have the doors and the drivers rear 1/4 primed tomorrow, leaving only dettachable panels to go (front left 1/4, bootlid, bonnet and apron).

Looks good. i am doing this kind of sanding and crap all the time and i have to admit, you have done a really good job, gives me major inspiration that my 55 can still be saved!

Thanks, a few kind words are often all it takes to get motivated again.

I had been working at getting the doors straight for quite a while, so had got frustrated and lost motivation.

Some of the prep work is very tedious, but now I have got painting again I am enjoying it and have a small sense of

acheivement.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

Today I spent the arvo working on the body again.

With some help from my little brother I got a few areas straight and we prepped and primed

the doors and the drivers rear 1/4.

any updates mr. doogs?

Sorry about the late reply.

A little has happened recently, will get some pics up tomorrow.

Unfortunately I have found one or two nasty surprises, but with a bit of persistance it should not be to much more trouble.

Now exams are almost upon me I might have to let the car go on the backburner (again!) but will hopefully make good progress again soon.

I have about 8 weeks off from mid June so aim tp get 2 grand together and then finish the paint and register her.

Once the car is registered I will drive it round on the 3k for a while and enjoy it while I save to build my 5k.

Money and time are big problems at the moment (along with the weather).

Update.

Over the past month or so I have;

> Brushed sound deadener in the spare wheel well and underneath

>Bought another bootlid and apron and begun work on the apron

>Taken off the front left 1/4 to remove rust and apply killrust paint

>Found large amounts of bog covering rust holes and a previous mirror location

I have worked at fixing these problems and aim to fix the bonnet, bootlid and also redo the doorjams and frames(along with a few other things).

Hopefully I will progress more soon when weather and time permits.

I aim to register the car by late July (depending on progress and funds).
