T50 Close Ratio Gears

Recommended Posts

I've been looking at prices for close ratio gears for the T50 lately (not that I actually have any money to buy any, but thought I'd see how much they cost anyway), and here is some info for anyone interested (btw, didn't know which section to put this in!):

From PalmsideNZ:

We have two kits available now

2.63 1st

1.89 2nd

Rest are standard      $2300.00 plus $100.00 freight

Or

2.341 1st

1.607 2nd

1.195 3rd

              $3400.00 plus freight

These kits are made so you can do these yourself, they old ones had to have

welding etc so became do hard.

Deane

That's in NZ Dollars.

Albins also make a few ratios, and there is a group buy happening in about April. Here's the thread

You're looking at about AUD1600 for 3 gears, that's not including fitting.

Yeah... it's still a lot of money... But no, I don't think you'd find them much cheaper elsewhere, and if you do, LET US KNOW! :P

Wow, the TRD ones are cheaper than the Palmside ones? I suppose the Palmside kits are meant to be DIY, I wonder how much work is required to fit the TRD ones?

Erm... I would doubt it. The group buy on the gears seems to be specifically for newer T50 gearboxes, which came in AE71/AE86, and which also might fit the older T50 gearboxes out of TA22's etc.
