Tally Posted December 4, 2010 Author Report Share Posted December 4, 2010 (edited) ahh thanks guys! well after I chucked the 32/36 weber on I had to come up with my own throttle cable linkage by adapting a KE70 throttle wheel to the weber. Turned out it wasn't allowing enough turn to open up the carb full so I had been driving with one throttle barrel for a week or two, I was full aware of this just didn't bother fixing it lol So after I got fed up with the massive restriction it was causing and the power I was losing, went and seen a Ryan (SLO-030) and he helped me adapt a ford throttle wheel onto the weber. From not being able to keep up with me, or any traffic really. To being able to blaze past traffic in a fit of induction noise and old school awesome. Changed the oil and coolant last night, still running a bit hot for some reason... just some castrol gtx and some tectaloy 90+ heavy duty coolant... Needs extractors & 2" system badly as now that the weber is working you can tell the exhaust is holding it back... Will chuck a cam in it as well and see what I can do about head porting... but need to get suspension done first me thinks... Looking pretty sad at the moment but will wire wheel, rust convert and paint them with high temp paint, should come out good. Might get some heat wrap aswell, see how I go. Its a learning experience and these motors are the best to start learning from. So easy to work on, parts are plentiful and you can get some good results out of them.
