Haven't seen it done. I was planning on doing it in my ke36. But with the cost of the 6 speed gearbox and not knowing if they'll hold the power I'm after I decided not to. But still have the engine invade I want to put it into another corolla later on :)

if your thinking of the 1.6 don't bother better off with a 4age. one of the 100kw ones. more power than the 1.6 mazda engine.

and if your thinking the 1.8 better off with a 4agze the 1.8 is only a bees dick better than the 1.6.

unless.... you get the engine for next to nothing.

into a ke10 nothing is going to be easy..

but i belive the mx5 motor has an ali sump...? mate is putting one into his escort and its required big mods.

if the 4age sump needs mods to fit it'll be easier there because the sump is steel.

apart from that they'd both take the same amount of stuffing about.

4age is a superior engine in the smaller capcity. the 2ltr outta the new ones is quite a good engine but cost and space will be a problem.

i don't wanna have to be cuttin and chopin a whole heap!!!

1500 for a gearbox don't worry me, but if the 5 speed is smaller and fits better id go with that!

any1 recommend which mx5 engine would fit better without a huge amount of hassle?

and place to buy an engine box n looms n that??

yeah ok... be different if your not worried about 1500 for a g/box then maybe look at a cosworth.. same sorta mods to fit as any other engine but a whole lot more worth it.

as for parts the 4age is much more supported than the mx5 motor and factory produce more power..

but seriously in a ke10 anything apart from a k motor is going to be a bitch..

also the g/box whether it a 5 speed or 6 speed is massively long. the shifter will end up where the handbrake is supposed to be.
