Onikage
What is the temp rating of the thermostat which would suit a Redtop 4age in a AE93 corolla? And are thermostats a universal fit, or would i need to state a specific part number at the parts shop?

You will need to get a specific one to fit your model (but one for you model will fit about 20 different other makes). Their a very common part that ANY parts store will have one (if they don't go to another store). As for temprature range I personally use a 71 to 74 degree thermostat but, I live in the tropics and thats suitable for the hot climate. philbey
Tridon parts finder is very good for details on all your cooling gear, such as thermo's, rad caps, switches etc. http://www.tridon.com.au/partfinder/default.aspx According to the parts finder, thermo on an AE82 4age (dunno if that's a redtop, not a big GE man) opens at 82 degrees.
