I ʞ©$ɟing love redbull.

Also I decided installing the oil temp sensor in the oil cooler line was too shit, so I bought this:

1/8 npt -27 thread tap

And this:

T handle tap wrench thingy

And I'm going to tap a oil temp sensor port (and maybe oil pressure port if there is enough room) into this:

Now I don't have the correct tapered ream for the 1/8 npt tap, but I figure an 11/32 drill bit should work fine. I bought a spare sandwich plate off Parrot incase I stuff up ;)

Started with this:

Did this (thread isn't tapped in this photo):

Now it looks like this:

1/8npt thread tapped into the sandwich/oil take off plate with an oil temp sensor installed in it. Yet to seal it up with thread sealant, but now I have a way to measure oil temps to tell if my oil cooler is working how I want it to work.

Cheers Leo, yeah I wanted an oil temp gauge and this was the only way I could think of fitting it, it's fiddly but it should work perfectly. I would have just fitted one of the oil temp/oil pressure sandwich plate adapters (see pic) but the oil filter would have fouled on the extractors.

So my exhaust components arrived the other day:

- 3 meters of 2" aluminium coated exhaust pipe

- Walker 2" (but inlet/outlet actually measures to be 2.25") 300 cell catalytic converter

- Lukey 2" straight through glass packed muffler

- Lukey 12" long 2" resonator

$185 all up.

I'm kind of wishing I bought an offset muffler or maybe a reverse flow muffler instead of a straight through, I hope the straight through doesn't cause an annoying drone sound. The exhaust is also going to be a press-bent, under-diff setup because it's easier and I don't have access to a mandrel bender but I do have access to a proper hydraulic pipe bender that does decent bends, can anyone suggest any cons for going under diff?

Now I've got a silly question, these little louvre/mouth-looking things inside the resonator face against the direction of flow right?

ie. This end faces the front of the car:

And this end faces the rear of the car:

Is that correct?
