I was going to take the roof too but I thought if I kill the roof it's probably a right off, dunno

Not necessarily a write off. You can roll and crumple a roof but not mess up the roll cage. Guy did that over here with his escort recently. I'm sure you could salvage the roof skin with a lot of panel beating, but sometimes easier to cut and shut a new section into it. Even if you bend a leg of a cage, that leg can be cut out and replace it, just depends on how much the rest of the shell is worth to you and time of building a new car vs time spent repairing bent car.

Thanks Chris,

These vac gauges work really well, and they can be balanced with out having to remove the filters.

Everything is on track for its first run on the 16th.

See you at Hirstglen.

Got the Terraphone fitted and wired today between other jobs.

Yeh was thinking today maybe I should grab it, even if I got caught in a bad hail storm or something who knows, I'll cut it off on Monday haha

Wiring is done. Had some help to get the Ke30 wiper motor connected to the RA60 Celica washer/wiper switch. That stuff will fry your mind.

Finished of the boot with a tool box.

Air filters are here this week and then off for the dyno tune.

Thanks Stuart.

It went to the dyno on Friday,"had the video cam ready" but the first development bug has shown its head already.

After some mid range tuning, we dropped the running in oil before the full power runs and noticed a little to much metal in the oil.

Pulled off the tappet cover and found that the cams are so big they are just wiping the edges of the buckets and slowly grinding away.

Got the head back off for some more CNC work to bore out the bucket slides for over size buckets.

The joy of race motors.

"How to make a small fortune in motorsport?"

"Start with a big fortune"

Looks amazing as always. Are you going to run the events with just sock filters in an open bay? Or are you planning on capturing and filtering cold air with some system in future? This is a real 10 tenths sort of build, I'm surprised that you would run sock filters. Having run them a few years on a road car, I'm a bit suspect on their filtration quality.

I will have to make a custom air intake/filter system in the future, but for now the socks will have to do.

The dyno tuner will tune it with the socks and then do a run with them off to see just how restrictive they are.

Some people have said they will stop more dust than a K@N which I believe as my old engines always seemed to have a fine dust in the intake with the K@N filter.

The flat panel filter is the best for performance if its paper or oiled foam.
