Lowering My Ke55! Help!!

My Mustard Ke55

It's not a bad idea to try as it is cheap and if you can find a spare set of springs your car won't be off the road for to long. Just don't do it to excess like a guy from the TCCAV who flipped every leaf bar the main one. The rear wheels would come off the ground.

I can think of a worse one! Steve's bro has a KE30 which is really low... and that is with re-set leaves! Personally, I reckon it had the worst ride I've ever been in I think, but it looks cool apparently..

Anyway, up at the Woolshed one day I jack up one side (with difficulty.. can't even get a jack under it!) and take a look. The car was literally sitting on the bump stops, so the only suspension travel was from the tyre sidewalls! I pulled the bump stops off and checked the shock stroke, and he ended up with about an inch of travel, which did make quite a difference.

You have to wonder about youngsters these days...
