A few days later

Got both fenders from the wreckers as my ones were rustier from inside. So now was the best time to get rid of them. ($30)

Well the good news is I got the car back and its currently standing in my driveway. The bad news is that there is still a little rust and a few holes that need to be welded closed in the trunk. As its Eid holidays starting from Sunday, the garage will be closed for a week. So during the next week I will start pasting the emblems and also start cleaning the interior. Will take it back to the garage next week for the final touches. As its dark and I am really tired. Will try and take some pictures tomorrow and post them up. Goodnight from this side of the planet :)

In $US, how much did the respray cost?? With a clean, enclosed spray booth inside a concrete-floored workshop and done by a guy in full safety gear and workboots it would probably cost you $4500US in Australia!

You can see the differences between rich countries and poor countries right there.. It costs so much for everything in a rich country that you are no better off in the end.

nice, do they have a website or a catalogue of parts?

They've got lots of webs ..... on their site!! Lol

I am pretty sure they don't even have a phone!!

The shop I am talking about usually sells parts like badges, front and tail lights, front grill, door mouldings, fender antenna, brake disks and pads etc. Basically parts that need replacement more often. All parts available are for the 4 door version. 2 doors are very rare here.

KE20s and 30s are not that common in the cities here in Pakistan, but they are quite common and still in everyday use in the mountainous parts of the North Pakistan. These cars pass through the cities of Islamabad (where I live) and Rawalpindi enroute to aywhere in the rest of Pakistan. Hence the availability of parts new and old here. People from the North know where exactly they have to stop and shop for parts. As I am still new at this I am still learning as to where I have to get them from.

I totally agree. Its much cheaper to get work done here. I still have to finalize the payment with the garage after holidays but the whole package (bodywork and respray) will be around $450 - $500 (US).

The same work at a modern garage in Islamabad would have cost around $1500 easy.
