i have my self a AE71 panel van and am starting on my qest to do it up.

i have come to a problem as i am a motor mechanic and have no idea what to do as far as panel work gos.

i started to strip down the car so i could see just how much rust there was and to my suprise there is a f@#k load lots that need to be plated

is there anyone out there in the sydney 2233 area that does this kind of work on the side,

as every day i look at it the project just seems to be too far away from a result.

i have through about a new shell but AE71 panel vans are just too hard to find and thats y this one needs to be repaired.

open too any advice.

or if any one knows of a AE71 panel van for sale that would also help

this is the rear end

AE71 sedan perhaps, for parts and panels to cut out? Thats where I'd be looking... also perhaps a KE70 wagon or panelvan to cut shit out of from the rear half of the car?

Actually, you could probably find all the bits you need from a KE70 wagon or panelvan, they're a dime a dozen over here (the wagons)

Thats a crazy amount of rust. Should ring up a tafe that teaches panel beating and say you have a car they can practise on.

Does that actually work? *eyes light up* Would be a great way to have your car worked on

Perhaps with the lower rear end, you might be able to fabricate a roll pan for it, similar to what the minitruckers do on their rides. Essentially it is a dead straight piece of metal with clean bends in it.. cut and bend the corners into shape and add a little bit of bog, and wa-la.. would work great on an pano, actually..

Did a dodgy paint thingo for you of what I'm trying to say, because I'm sure I can't explain it very well
