At the last All Toyota Day in brisbane there was a ke10 with a 7k in it. I was talking to the owner and he said it fitted no worries. He had to notch the bonnet for clearance and also (i think) used a 4k sump as the 7k one is deeper. havent got any more details though sorry.

You need to talk to the guy here in adelaide with the 7k ke15. Races it in classic adelaide. I believe his name is Malcom?? Mckiggan?

Doug, shed any light on this? He was on oldcorollas, anyone got an email? he knows everything you would even need too.

If your real keen i could go through my archive for a contact address.

Scott.

not sure what Malcolm did with his.

there is an older guy in brisbane with a 7k in a ke15. from what i remember him telling me (was a couple of years ago), he modified the sump and bolted it in. he ran twin aisans and didn't have any bonnet clearance issues.

We have a 7k in my KE55. Fit in perfectly on the 4K mounts. Although just looking at the size of the KE1X's it looks like they might have a smaller engine bay. Mine has a 3K sump on it (which is leaking :lolcry: ). The previous owner of the engine said he replaced the 7K sump with the 3K because (as above) the 7K sump wouldn't fit. My dad said (and this might not be correct) that the 7K is physically the same size as the 4K, the only differences are internal.

folks ... just out of curiosity ...

where does everyone get their hands on the 7Ks??

I wouldn't the foggiest ... and it looks like an easy upgrade (compared to some swaps I've been considering)

We bought ours from someone who had posted it on the net. Originally though, they had it imported.

Sloths 7k sits straighter than the 4k.

We ran a 3k inlet manifold and 4k

carb and they fitted perfecly.

The sump of a 3 or 4k will fit you just

need to modify the oil pick up.

Things like gearbox, manifolds and engine mounts

were a staight bolt up.

All Kmotors are basically the same block!

Are you going to run e.f.i or carbies
