Pretty sure they get stuff through ashdown ingrams I think it is. Have a look on there and see whats up.

The thing is price with most people, they're cheap and don't want to spend $200-250 on a New guard when they can bog theirs and use the money to stickerbomb their gearknobs.

I can state for a fact I've seen brand new guards for ke30 pop up on eBay from to time to time so you may get lucky there, not sure if NOS or repro but

Hey Guys and Gals, my name's Nathan and I am a Corolla Addict, long time reader first time poster (so be gentle) ;)

This is my second corolla as my very first car was a 76 2 door coupe painted in factory purple (kicking myself for ever getting rid of her :( )

Due to budget cut backs at work I have been forced to find another car and thought it was the perfect time (read: perfect excuse to give the minister of finance) to get myself another little beauty and after much hunting I stumbled upon this gem one night while sitting in traffic. She is going to be used as a daily driver fairly soon, when I lose the company car, but will also be used as a project car to teach my 3 boys what a real car is like (none of this modern electric garbage lol). I do have plans to eventually use it as an occasional track car as well but for the moment I am just going to be fixing the few minor blemishes and doing a little work to the existing 4k to make it a little more fun to drive. I am planning on starting a build thread on it as well to document the ongoing (albeit slow) repair and build up of all the work I am going to be doing to it.

Car: May 1981 KE55 Corolla Sedan 4 door

Motor & Driveline: 1300cc 4k with 4 speed manual box

Suspension & Brakes: Suspension has been lowered (by previous owner) at pedders by about an inch all round, brakes are still stock front discs, rear drums

Wheels & Tyres: All stock 13' rims and rubber

Interior: Stock, black door panels with brown carpet and front set of after market seats (installed by previous owner). Back seats are original and I do have the original fronts to put back in as well.

Body: Red, so she goes faster :) . Other than the expected odd rust spot, she is really clean and tidy, no accidents, frame is straight all original panels. The only issues with the body are a rust spot at the lower passenger side of the rear window near the corner of the boot and at the base of the front drivers side quarter panel where it meets the drivers door, other than that, there is a small bubble starting on the bonnet and just the expected bit of stone chips etc.

Let me know what you think :)

Dan you can still buy brand new REPRODUCTION guards for 30/55.

They're rubber pressed not steel pressed like original ones though so can have some small ripples. They also don't have any holes drilled in them so that needs to be done top suit vehicle (ie 55 with wrap around bumpers).

But yes some hoarders have straight, rust free goodies stashed away for rainy days. I've still got those brown XX ones.
