Ke55...8 Inch And 9 Inch Drums?

Hey guys,

Ive been having a search through the site and can't find any info on this. I am looking for a diff for a ke55. The wreckers asked me if they were 8 or 9 inch drums on mine. Mine have 9 inch.

 

My question is, can you swap the 9 inch drums onto an 8 inch drum diff housing?

 

My diff is a borg warner. Also is the 8 inch drum diff the one without a sway bar? Any info on this would be appreciated as my current diff isnt going to last much longer.

Yes you can change the brakes, but you need to change everything, backing plate etc...

 

The smaller drums will be the KE3x drums, and the larger drums were on KE5x...I have swapped to larger ones on KE30's many times.
