3Tg Heater Water Line

I have a 3tg engine in my race car and i just run some hose from the front of the head where the thermostat housing is to the rear which is the heater return line port. As i don't run a heater anymore.

 

I was wondering if i can just block of these ports and get ride of the hose? or does water need to run through the head for cooling or something???

i'd say it's there for a reason and why would you wanna pull it off for if it's working fine??? leave it i say, i had the same thing on my 2tg and it worked fine i never had an issue with it
