Hi all I'm needing bigger brakes for my 70 I'm considering ae86 larger ventilated disks but need to know if ke70 stub axles and caliper mounts will accept ae86 brakes . or if i fit the complete expensive ae86 strut assemblys along with the shorter power steering arms will the original ke70 ball joint and tie rod taper fit the ae86 steering arms?, are ae86 strut tubes larger than ke70 ? . as much as id like to i wont be going coil over for now ( aprentice wages suck) and am considering fitting lowered KINGS springs when all done . I read somewhere that xt 130 corona strut tubes are the same size as ae86 as this may be a cheapo option with the solid rotors as i saw one at the wreckers yesterday but am curious if the xt130 strut /brake assembly will bolt onto the ke70 or ae86 shorter powersteering steering arms . cheers

No, brakes will not fit to my knowledge, the bolt spacing is different between KE70 and AE86. Yes, ball joints and tie rods are the same, I'm using KE70 stuff with AE86 P/S arms now. I've currently got mine bolted to TE72 struts, I believe they will also bolt to XT130. One thing to keep in mind is that if you fit kings and then change struts they probably won't fit your new struts as spring seats are often different. Yes, strut tube sizes are the same. The shocks I have in my TE72 tubes are suitable for AE86 as well apparently. Last time I looked at XT130 the size was similar too. Generally with aftermarket shocks you take into account slight insert variations with spacers. KE70 arms are not compatible with anything good, get rid of the whole strut and arms.
