I've bought a ke70 corolla and had fun removing the rust, repairing the boot seal and repainting.
I've really enjoyed it, but not so much I'm in a hurry to do it again.
I've noticed that directly underneath the boot is a reverse angled lip that has 4 holes in it. (Above the number plate)
The holes are original corolla manufacturer.
I figure that the rust is partly the result of moisture entering the boot area through these holes, and not being easily able to escape. Consequently may be the source for internal rust within the boot area, particularly common to the petrol filler area of this model car.
Anyone else know what I mean?
Anybody know why I can't grommet these holes to prevent the moisture?
Was there a bit of trim that normally covered these holes thats gone astray?
Thanks for replies.
