Don't really know what to do with the points, I don't have a dwell meter and don't really know what I'm checking haha but I'll read up and then check it out, cheers.

Hi,
Have been having trouble with my girlfriends ra40 stalling. It's an automatic and at first the problem started happening in gear when stopped, so I thought brake master cylinder, vacuums or torque converter. But checked all the vacuum lines and they seem fine, replaced o ring on master cylinder so that's not leaking or anything. But now its started stalling in neutral too, it's not idling at all anymore. Thinking carby or something could be the problem but not sure. Just after any tips.
Cheers, Jake

still for sale?

going back on my old comment, mounts i have stock are 5x7, i have an adaptor, completely forgot about that. sorry for misinformation.
-
Well I haven't changed the springs at all, never even touched them, front end is stock as a rock
-
Will check bushes today, what can be done with regards to springs being seated incorrectly, quite an ameteur with all this suspension stuff haha.
-
Couldn't be worn bushes or anything could it?

My ke70 has recently developed a creaking noise when turning the wheel left at low speeds, what could be causing this?
I havent had an accident or anything to attribute to it suddenly starting to do this so couldnt be that.
Cheers, Jake.

Adelaide Carburettor Service
535 Regency Road, Sefton Park, SA
83424748
Got my car back today after getting the carburettor rebuilt. Mike was a great bloke, very helpful, cheaper than anywhere else I looked too.
-
This would be great, as far as bigger carbies go. This guy is really good to deal with, very helpful, knows his shit.
-
Would anyone happen to know, or be able to measure the length and width between the centres of the studs on the inlet, where the carby mounts. Thanks, Jake.

I know this is digging up an old thread, but wiring up my head unit i couldnt find a wire from the stock HU that had constant power, where can I splice one off of?
-
My ke70 has stock 6x9s there, don't know if it's just because it's an XX or what, but they're bolted straight into the metal, there are mounts built into the bottom of the parcel shelf...

Spotted driving up green hill road, white debadged ke70, don't know what the plates were, gave them a wave, they waved back

Hey guys, been around on here for a while but my ke70 is finally registered so I thought I should post here!
Located near Mitcham,
Drive a 1983 5 speed XX KE70, stock as a rock.
Need a new carby at the moment though to get it back on the road!
Hopefully get involved in some cruises and stuff in the near future.

Still having problems, tried this, but to no avail;
Cheap and nasty way to clean carby.
Swap 2 and 3 plug leads around.
Hold foot flat
Crank engine
Watch it backfire through carby a couple of times
Swap plug leads back to where they should be.
Oh and make sure you remove the aircleaner before you do this....................
I guess I'm gonna have to pull the carb apart, if anyone has the workshop manual and they could scan and send me the pages on the carby, it would be much appreciated, because otherwise I'm going in blind. Really need this back on the road, hardly idles with the choke out anymore, too lean?

Trying to mount my new head unit and having trouble. I was originally going to mount it up top where the original stereo was, but the mounts wont fit to my head unit. So I tried mounting down the bottom, and those mounts didnt work either. How do people do this? None of the holes line up to the ones on my head unit..

Bump. Anyone?

Bought a new fuel filter and that fixed the problem for a couple weeks, but its back and worse than ever. Now it doesn't idle, and shudders when driving, although everything runs absolutely fine with the choke out, but of course this isn't too practical, driving around blowing smoke haha. My mechanic has said he thinks the idler jet must be blocked, and has recommended a carby rebuild, but not too keen on spending the $300 I was quoted for that.
-
I will do exactly that later this evening. Will get back to you with mL/15 secs.
Edit: Fuel filter paper looks ridiculously dirty already, after flushing it yesterday.
-
My first plan of attack is going to be new fuel line and filter. Then I'll look at timing etc, if thats not it, it will be time to cough up some $$$ for a carby recon, or go straight for a new carby, webber or something ;)
-
The only ones that weren't connected/sealed are the ones in the pic I posted, just sealed them but will have to wait 'till tomorrow to see if that helps, as I'm heading to work now :n:

I'm thinking I'm just going to get the carby reconditioned, and hope that does the trick. Cheers guys.
Supercharged T132 Corona
in Rollaclub Rides
Posted · Edited by fkj
Just picked up this one on Friday, the ol' girl had to come all the way from Queensland, but the price was right so it was worth it.
It's an old 1980 liftback corona, rt132 model, always been a fan of these lifbacks. This ones got a vinyl top too :y:
It's had a supercharged 1g-gze from a imported Chaser Advante front cut, 5 speed box from a ra60 Celica, power steering rack from... (can't remember right now but will update) and it goes hard!
Engine bay needs a good clean up, and body could do with a full detail.
