Hi guys I'm pretty new to this whole corolla scene. I have recently purchased a ke70 as a daily, and it has a bit of oil in the water, and I'd say it needs rings at a minimum. I was just going to do a 4age swap but because I didn't research enough before I bought the car (should have loomed for an Ae71, it appears) and the fact that I live in Mackay (not exactly easy to find parts up here), it's going to be easier to just rebuild the k motor. Now I don't expect monster power from the thing, but would like it to be able to power up the range and be able to overtake safely. What kind of mods should I be looking into that won't cost me a fortune, but will give me good bang for my buck? Was thinking cam regrind, a bit off the head and a quick port job? Where's the best place to source pistons etc online? What should I do re carby? Ignition? Thanks in advance guys, I've tried search but it's not being too friendly cause I can only access the net off my phone.
