I just checked it again and it is from the top. I'm guessing it is the oil draining off. I'll get a genuine filter and see if that helps. Thanks all for the advice.

Mmm I'm not entirely sure it is. It may be top end. It just sounds like you can hear the number 4 piston thumping

Hi all, I've just finished putting a used 3k (from a ke30) into my daughters ke20 and it seems to have a developed an intermittent bottom end knock on start up. It doesn't happen every time. Only when it has been sitting for a while and even then it's not every time. Once it starts it knocks for about 5 secs andvthen it's gone. There is no obvious noise while driving. The old motor had a similar knock before putting a Conrod through the block. Any tips on what might be the cause and how it can be fix before it becomes terminal? Any thoughts appreciated.
