Hi guys. I'm sure we are all familiar with the idea of a parts car. Some may call them donor cars, parts whores etc. They are an essential tool in building other better cars, and are essential to every restoration. I was looking through some older photos and thought why not start a thread to remember them by. Ill begin. The only rule is that they must be as stripped and flogged looking as possible, as close to the end as possible.

 -Hey guys, okay guys I was checking out this Celica site a while back and I saw this guys Celica... RA20 Its the Fifth Celica Ever Made. It got me thinking, hmm, i wonder if anyone has the youngest or oldest KE30 ever made on rollaclub. It'd be worth checking out whos got what. So I went to the wreckers last week and checked out their 9 KE30 corollas. It turns out that out of them all Lola is the youngest. So i put this challenge forth to everyone on Rollaclub. Post me your Vin number and i'll add it to the list of your model with your name next to it. Feel free to post a pic too. Its entirely up to you to post. From the Administrators: Guys jus…

This is a warning to the Rollaclub community and the wider Toyota community. Last November a person started advertising on ebay and not honouring sales. This spread to a number of Toyota related forums. Mainly here and AE86DC. This person has gone by the name of Rollamanke70 and mkxy351gtho on ebay. Rollaclub names of DRFTR, rollaslider87, dirttracker and Ritto64. He has used the names Mickey Scuteri, Nic, Domenic, and to be honest, recently any other that seemed to come it his/her/its head. His emails are usually gmail addresses or non isp addresses. As vigilant as we are, we can't always immediately block any new accounts (for various reasons.) …

Anyone out here who is a bigger nerd than I am? Just wondering if anyone can explain to me how to tell the difference between a mercedes vito 109cdi and a vito 115cdi? Can't find it written on the vehicle anywhere!! I'm normally pretty good at finding out these nerd type things such as model numbers and variants but this is a bit beyond me!! :hmm: Robert.

Hey everyone. I am just wanting to know how much the diff gears may make a difference to the speed that the speedo is showing vs the car is actually going. The only thing that I have done is change it from a 3 speed auto to a 5 speed manual. The car still has the 4:30 gears in it. And with those gears from about 60km/h up the speedo is out. At about 100 by phone, the speedo sits between 110-115 km/h. But at 60km/h the car is doing 60km/h by phone. So I'm wondering will 4:11 gears fix this problem or make it worse? Cheers 79rolla

Knibusus's words reminded me- "I like to document things so that if anyone in the near future wants to do the same modification, there is documented information for them to refer to and may make it a bit more easier for them. " ..and I used to read Billzilla's pages a lot for 4AGE info. Now it shows- "Account Suspended. This Account has been suspended." www.billzilla.org/

Hey guys just wondering what could be causing my 79 ke55 to shut off under moderate braking. We also don't seem to be getting full throttle with the vacuum secondary not seeming to open up. What do you guys think. I'm puzzled as to why its doing both of these things. Just would like to see what others think of it. Cheers 79rolla

Need an opinion on why my 79 ke55 isnt getting spark. I have checked everything that could stop it from sparking. Resistor, power to coil, all ground wires, all fuses. Everything has been looked at and done. Replaced coil with 3 other coils, and all show no spark at all. It gets no spark out of coil. But it is getting power to negative side on every coil i have tried with only the negative wire being connected. So I want to see what you guys think it could be. Cheers 79rolla

Hey guys and girls. Just wondering if any one has any idea as to why my 79 ke55 shuts off under braking. Its under moderate to hard braking it cuts out. Light braking its fine and doesnt cut out. But moderate to hard braking it does. Doesn't matter if your on the clutch or not. It cuts out. Its done this with multiple Carby's now. Good and bad ones. But i don't know what it could be so would like some help on finding the problem. It is also a pain to restart. It will just sit there fast winding. It will take about 5 pumps of the pedal to restart if not more. Cheers 79rolla

Hey guys and girls, I have some questions for you all. So i have a 79 ke55 and I am having a few troubles with it. The temp gauge doesn't work when connected, the fuel gauge has stopped working now after a while of working on and off. As well as the speedo doesnt work properly. What I mean by the speedo not working properly is that at 60 it says 60 by the speedo, but at 100 the speedo reads at 120. As well as the blue sheet on the back of the cluster doesn't like being tightened properly (doesnt let gauges work when tight) at what I believe is the regulator for the fuel and temp gauges. What could be the causes for this? Why is the speedo out? Why is the fuel gauge not wo…

Came across this March 1968 Modern Motor magazine advertisement, this afternoon; which will bring a smile to some faces. Now Toyota Corolla 1100 gives you the choice - all synco 4-speed gearbox, or brand new-fully automatic Toyoglide transmission ! Slip the stubbyToyoglide lever into "drive". No need to change for traffic lights or hills. Automatic kick-down gives first gear acceleration for any emergency. Slip into "L" and Corolla holds first gear. You can't change from neutral to reverse accidentally. "P" for Park brake on the transmission. Flashing performance from Corolla's 60 horsepower engine. 36 m.p.g. plus fuel ecomomy. Built-in heater/ demistor .…

Hi All, I'm not into AI as yet, as I have enough on my plate each day, to keep me very busy. MicroSoft has added AI to a number of their products. I use MicroSoft WORD every day, in my business. The latest update of Word, includes an AI function called "Co-Pilot". Basically, You ask it to produce/write something about a particular subject, & it goes away, & in a very short time, will come back, with something it has created, based on it's scouring the web, & other resources at it's disposal, where it can "learn" about what You have asked it to do. So, I'm interested in upgrading older engines, with modern day ECUs, & precision cont…

Hello everyone! I just start to clean 4age bigport head, and find out that 4th exhaust cam bearing looks different than others.. Is it too Bad, or can i still reassembly head with these caps? Camshaft looks good only bearing cap had that little groove, just where camshaft had "lubricant hole" (or what IT is correct name ) so, do it carry oil all over that 4th bearing cap, and everything is okay, or is cap (and head) only a trash? Cams roll still smooth, when i turn them by hand. That groove on cap had smooth edges, not sharp. Other caps looks good yhen only had minimal Marks wich is normal. Engine runs good before disassembly head, only idle was quite high

I have been doing alot of reading before deciding which k engine I want to overhaul, and according to the rollaclub tech page a 3k-b makes 83bhp@6600 with torque 75@4600 and 1166 displacement bore 75mm stroke 66mm a 4k-u makes 74bhp@5600 with torque 78@3600 and 1290 displacement bore 75mm stroke 73mm I am scratching my head as to why a 7+ year older engine with less displacement can make more power than the 4ku. I'm assuming its the Big port head, manifold and twin carbs that are making all the difference, so if I put the Big port head, manifold and twin carbs on the 4ku it should make up the 9hp difference and alot more YES? I have a bigport head and…

Hi, I own a 2001 Corolla Sportivo factory turbo. I bought it off marketplace and found that the previous owner of it had installed an aftermarket catch can system. The car also made a loud whistling noise on startup. Suspecting a PCV valve issue, i replaced the valve and also reinstalled the toyota factory catch can and this fixed the issue. However, I'm not sure how it is meant to be connected and if these cars came with a different pcv valve to the non turbo versions. There is a third small hole in the catch can and from pictures of other peoples engine bay it appears as though a hose should be connected to this going somewhere, but I'm not sure whe…

Hi. I found this car alarm system at a thrift shop. Brought it home and checked it. It works fine. I just can't get it to pair to a remote since it didn't come with one. I have another much basic one already installed in my 2010 Corolla and I resolderd the receiver chip from that one and slapped it into the new one. Nothing worked. I soldered the new ones chip into the old one and surprisingly it did read and then work with the work but once i put everything back to normal there was no difference. New chip did nothing. There is no read button on the new system and I really want it to work. Please help OLD ONE NEW ONE

You are strolling down some scrappy flea market in Portugal looking for Italian pottery for the wife who you have left in Australia (salves the guilt), see a distributor on a tarp and within a millisecond, know it’s for a 3K without even bending down. €8. I don’t actually have any guilt, but I am missing the dogs.

After I get the Girls KE70 going with its new Haltech, I'm thinking of doing up the suspension. Nothing for racing or lowering it, just better than stock for country driving. All four corners, probably stick with stock style in the rear and coilovers in the front. There are three options for full kits- Coilovers from BCRacing at 48mm, they weld onto the KE70 strut foot. Four adjustable shocks. Coilovers from BCRacing that are 51mm diameter, so AE86 or XT130/RA40 or RA60. Full spindle coilovers from BCRacing that still need hubs and bearings, rotors, calipers, and steering arms. The first is the cheapest, but limited in shocks for it and runs KE70 brak…

Just posting to see if anybody has the figures for the production of KE15 and Ke17 sprinters? Also if anybody knows how many were sold into the Australian market? I have both a KE17 SL and a KE15 SL, and I am trying to work out just how rare they are these days. Would idealy like the 'SL' sales figures, but would be stoked if anyone can help with total model sales. Thanks in advance.

hey everyone, just a quick query. looking at buying a ke35 the guy is asking $5,500 for the car yet it has no roof lining or carpet. rust has been welded and it has been re painted (in my opinion a crappy colour) in hemi orange with a black hood. Old Torana style. From what I understand, the guy doesnt have most of the front grill assembly either and the car is running a 4k engine with high cam. To me this car is worth a max of $3,500, and thats pushing it. I saw a ke35 go on one of there forums earlier this year for $5,500 and it was a complete rebuild with a 4age in it I think and everything was immaculate. But as I havent really had any experience with ol…

Hey folks, hope everyone’s safe. I don't know if this topic has been opened yet, but I wanted to share a recent experience I had with my car's wheel spacers. I installed a new set of Brembo calipers and HRE rims, but they are scratching the rims because they are too big. I already had them installed and didn't want to spend money on another set of calipers and wheels. So I searched on Google for a solution and finally decided to install a set of spacers. The effect is very nice. Not only did it solve the scratching problem, but my wheels were flush with the fenders. The whole car looks fuller and is very stable while driving. Now I'm cruis…

Don't drive down dirt roads at 100km/hr when you have 235/35 R19 tyres! $440 lesson after puncturing at the bead. Also, google maps doesn't differentiate between bitumen and dirt roads. My Volkswagen GTI Mk 8 however is a phenomenal car, and had the best day driving around the King Valley in Victoria yesterday on way to Winton Historics. Best $440 I ever spent!
