  1. New shocks ready to go in, got them off ebay for $150 delivered to my door, repco wanted $369 for the same ones gotta love ebay.
  2. Done some more rust repairs today, also got some new front shocks coming in the next few days and a new timming light so timming will be checked soon, and done the oil an filter too.
  3. Got motivated today and lowered the rear to match the front, used some shocks I had out of my wagon (which are shorter) to keep the springs captive cut about 1.5 coils out of the rear and 2 out of the front.I also changed my wiper arms as the old ones where rusty and bent. Also I managed to get another tyre on myself with a bit of difficulty and now it looks heaps better.Got some new points too but got the wrong ones got denso instead of bosch so have to take them back and exchange for the right ones. With the new rims before lowering the rear. Standard ae/ke sedan shocks (longer one), standard ae/ke wagon shocks. After lowering the rear.
  4. Yeah 2 of the tappets are worn and are making all the racket, so I'm going to go one down on the feeler gauges and see if that fixes the problem.
  5. Got some new wheel nuts the other day so i can fit my rims.I managed to remove and fit one of the tyres myself so i could see how they sit on the car, and I think they sit perfect, they just fit under the gaurds.
  6. Took some better pics of the car, needs to be lowered in the rear.
  7. So I got bored and done the tappets today, and now it sounds worse done 0.3 exhaust & 0.2 inlet.Wet sanded my rocker cover while it was off, still need to polish it, and finished bogging the rear guard, not my best work but it will get me through rego.
  8. Done some more rust work on the rolla today.
  9. Haha good to know I'm not the only one, I have stuff I can't sell too and yeah that's not all my wheels have some more under my house
  10. Thought I whould post some pics of all the parts I've been hording, hahaha I think I may have a problem. The crazy part is that I sold about half the parts I use to have, now only my garage is full use to be the yard aswell.
  11. Put the radiator fan shroud on. And found some more rust in the right guard.
  12. Today I've been busy making my ke70 radiator fit into the ae71, the ae 71 cut out is slightly bigger so I made some brackets to make it fit.I also modified the battery clamp to fit a big 720cca battery.Next I took the plate off the back of the diff to inspect it and change the oil, the diff looks to be in good nick with no pitting or chiped teeth (helps that it was an auto) so put some sealant on it and put it back on, i will put some new oil in it tomorrow when the sealant has gone off.I also put some nulon G70 in the gearbox as it was a bit notchy, and it seems to have fixed it and the gearbox is alot smother and quiet, i will be putting a tube in the diff seeing as it worked so well in the gearbox. BTW i know my radiator is ʞ©$ɟed but it doesn't leak and I will be putting a bigger one in when i have the money.
  13. Also do you have to run camber tops with the coilovers? or can you use the stock strut tops I don't want any camber wear on my new tyres that's all.
  14. Wow they look nice mate, how much did the inserts cost you, I was thinking about KYB sw20r but if the monroes are cheaper I might go with them.My friend had coilovers in his supra and it passed blue slip, why would they not pass it? it's safer than the old claped out stock suspension.
  15. So after lots of stuffing around with the xt130 struts I have just decided to put the stock struts back in with cut springs, as I could not find a way for them to work, the stock shocks are stuffed and I think it's time for a weld on coilover kit from otomoto or maybe t3 but don't like the look of them, they look cheap so leaning towards HSD can't complain for $299 I guess.I better start saving, I've had enough problems with these shocks so I'm over it gonna do it right, but the way it's looking I'm gonna be lucky to get the AE71 on the road anytime soon and I only have 5 months to do it in, but until this suspension issue is sorted it won't be passing a blue slip.
