Hi guys and girls,
just seeing who else is entering in the upcoming Bay to Birdwood classic??- i have got my Ke11 and Bongo 1000 both entered and can't wait!!
The previous classic there was a heap of early rolla's which was fantastic!!! especially the 7 or so ke1#'s all cruising up Chain of Pounds / Gumeracha together in a line.
info / forms: http://www.baytobirdwood.com.au/the_classic.html
Cheers

Also, later pumps run extra crap. The KE10 pump is the best pump, but in future I'll press off the pulley boss and fit a later one, so I can run a plastic fan (old steel ones are nasty)
Tom- your right, my original 2 blade steel fan snapped in half soon after i got my ke11.. was soo lucky in didn't punch a whole in the radiator i got recored haha.. let us know when you fit a plastic one / and what one you go with.. i measured up roughly with a ke20 plastic one and wasn;t 100 percent sure it would fit.. so I'm now running a front mount thermo and a temp switched.
cheers

remove the front leaf all together, and run some decent front lowered springs- and philbey's ke20 strut top setup!

although don't know any more than that... only had a suss through the window from inside my car on the way to work this morning
if i was to walk in i may do somthing i would regret! ahha

hahaha, noone has ever driven any of my cars except mitch and even then i was nervous, i'm pretty particulur when it comes to that.
both the 26 and 11 are getting whitewalled tomorrow. Thank you Derryl :)
will do Hen.
dammm you should have told me earlier i would have dropped mine around to get done too
-
Going well
We gotta organise an old school rolla cruise again soon - the weather is rocking for it and seems like plenty of them out at the moment!!
hell yea we do!!! nick just has the difficult decison of deciding which rolla to bring... or which mate he trusts enough haha
cars looking good dude hit me up whenever for that lid!
-
tom,
yea they do slightly... they are not captive when the car is fully jacked up..
did a bit of a trick with them though.. ill show you when we catch up

What's the 5k like ?
yea its bit of a step up from the 3k.
power wise is fine for the ke11 as its so light.. has enough poke to cruise on the freeway etc, and keep up / overtake traffic no probs
-
The front drums are rather scary in decent amounts rain.
My back seat is faded across the top and it's just starting on the drivers seat, but it sits in the shed at home and under cover at work so it's doesn't worry me too much.
What rev range does your 3k start to run out of power ? Mine seems to want to just keep going but I don't have a tacho.
this is a worked 5k
yea i have a 5k with a side draught carby..
i didn't have the 3k in there when the tacho dash was in so no real idea :hmm:
-
Yours is in much better condition than mine. I don't have rust but faded paint and dents anoy me a lot.
I'm putting disc's on the front this week and changing to 114.3 pcd. I'm going to run a 185/60/r14 and I hope it won't rub.
Are the tops of your seats faded at all ?
yea luckily i have no rust ethier!
na they are not.. interior is perfect with no rips or fade.. except drivers seat is really uncomfortable andthe stitching has begun to come undone.. needs new foam / padding and springs i think.. i have half been thinking about getting the whole interior redone / re-trimmed in black :hmm:
Disc brakes are a good move!! drums all round is real interesting when you need to stop in a hurry! ahh i thought about the stud pattern change.. definatley easier to source wheels etc.. but i wanted to be able to run the 12inch stockies everynow and then..
-
Looks soo tidy. I really hope I have my car done in time for the Bay to Birdwood next year. Can't wait to roll with all the overrated 10's you got over there. :)
can't wait for nexts years bay to birdwood.. we really should keen as many rolla owners as possible up for it!
-
185/60 I think?
This car is incredible <3
cheers ben!
i have 175 / 65 on mine..
rubs a tiny bit if i have people in the back.. but i hear other run 175 /60's and don't have any issues at all...
AE70...your car is like an identical twin of mine too!

UPDATE>>
...well after a long winter hidden away in the shed gathering dust....thought it was time for some rego and a clean!
Nothing has really changed too much the 14 inch wheels are still off.. I'm running 12inch flappers now, and i put in an uncracked dash pad..
got a few other plans for it and a different grill in the mail.. but i am really just enjoying driving the little girl again its been waay to long!
-
Now to find free time to go get the wheels. :l
call me on tomo night or sat. i should be round!
-
I find the biggest issue with Ke10 cooling is the lack of overflow bottle, a couple of drives and you lose half a litre, in summer you need to top up almost daily.
i just grabbed a ke55 or 30 overflow bottle with backing mount for mine... best move ever! hardest part is trying to squeeze it in the engine bay somewhere :hmm:
-
tom,
saw you pumping up old belair a few weeks ago!!!!
sounded tuff makes me want to rego mine ahahah
cheers

i had my original ke11 radiator fully recored. I did it as soon as i bought the car.
had to take off the stock metal 2 blade fan as well.. as a blade fell off while driving :hmm:
i just mounted a 10 inch (i think) thermo on the front.
the radiator cost me $240
luke is right the repo ones do pop up on ebay and the like from time to time for about that price..
you could go custom alloy for the 800 mark...
cheers
