i hardly ever see a early 90's balck corolla..most are maroon, white

ok, the vibration prob was underinflated tyres...only on 16-17psi...pumped them to 37psi, the steering is all good now now few other probs if you guys can shed a light on or had exp with 1. my engine bay makes a belt noise obvious at idle althought not that loud..like those old falcons, upon closer inspection it is from one of the belts i think. any of u had this exp? 2. and also what are the signs of worn clutch?

yep i can only really notice it in 3rd, mayb a touch in 4th under moderate acceleration but only happen sometimes. I need to drive it more in the next few days to get a clearer idea as i just got the car. gear goes in and out at ease so i think it might be alignment? tyres?

thanks for all the replies..and info on twincam etc. driving the car for a bit now, i must say its not too bad..nice and quiet and ok acceleration being a manual. the only thing i find a bit annoying is a slight stering shudder/vibration in 3rd when I'm in slight hurry, i think it might be wheels or maybe steering.

yeh i see your pt, as it isnt worthwhile to chuck moeny on it to make it go faster, but i still think some light mods shud be allright...people get bagged for modding their magnas as well. for the magnas, its simply exhaust, air filter and lower it ( if youre on a budget) and that only gives u minimal gains as well..i guess its similar for the corolla.

yeh, i know, but considering the lower weight and manual its allright btw do u guys change the timing belt at 150k? or is it just do it if u feel like it item?

Hi all! I'm new to this forum, becoz i got a manual ae112r corolla with about 150kms on it... Ive owned 2 magnas before this..so this is a change i guess, could you guys tell me about those 1.8's? as i got no idea about them, like performance, fuel economy, maintainence, reliability or minor mods as it only has 85kw and 154nm..comparing to my 3rd gen v6 magnas which has 140-150kw and 300nms etc.. great appreciated!
