  1. Can't get the Bitch started again, with cylinder one at TDC i need which cylinder's valves to be overlapped? 1 or 4? and i set the dizzy so the little mark on the rotor button and the mark on the edge of the dizzy line up yeah?
  2. Hey Guys, So i'm replacing the head on my AE82's 4AC, just trying to figure out what torque setting the head bolts need to be set at.
  3. Ok so checked it out myself, rattles to high hell but i think i know why. turn it over starts and idles at 800-900RPM, hit the throtte shoots to 1600-1800RPM and sticks, drove it around for an hour, stopping and starting in about 15-20Min intervals to make sure the choke wasn't the problem, well i dunno it might be the problem but it still Idles really high even after a fair stretch of driving.
  4. Ok so i finally got the 4AC power box turned over and running, but apparently it's revving out at round about 1800RPM, Now to be completely honest i haven't heard t yet so this post may need to be updated/changed or even remonved in the morning but the old man got her living and i can't turn her over to see for myself now as it's 2:33am and don't wanna make him or the neighbours, but a lot of replies happen on here late at night early morning so hate to miss this opportunity for opinions. So far I've checked the Vacuum hoses and the Intake but all look ok and plumbed up right.
  5. ok excuse my stupidity but as the car still isn't going i have to be thorough, going by my picture above from left to right is cylinders 1-2-3-4 yes????
  6. thanks, i thought that but it looks really weird to me so got kinda confused. but what do you mean make sure cylinder 4 is on overlap? i'm not sure what you mean. does that mean that it's exhaust valve is about to open?
  7. Hi, I own a AE82 4AC powered Rolla that has just had a big problem, seized the distributor, shattered the cam gear and broke the timing belt all in one go. Now i've been doing the repairs and now i'm up to the timing belt and need to tune it properly, a local mech said if you just turn the crank so that cylinder one is at top dead center then set the cam so that cylinder one has the exhaust valve open that'd be spot on, one problem is i can't tell which lobe (from left to right) is the intake and which is the exhaust, can anyone help?
