  1. hey fellas, I've managed to find a cheap 1987 toyota DX wagon, does anybody know it the diff and drive shaft will fit (straight bolt) into my KE30? Would the diff out of the wagon be stronger then the diff out of the KE30? Cheers Peter
  2. Thanks for the helpful answers!! It's all a learning experience. I will have a hunt around the local wreckers to see if i can find a flange/pinion plate to suit the rest of the setup. what would be the best (most common and cheapest) diff head to mount in a KE diff housing? cheers Peter
  3. Hi there, I have a 1980 KE30 which has a locked diff in the back, the problem is locked diffs aren't legal... I have been doing some reading and thanks to rollaclubs help established that the diff in my KE30 is off the banjo type, the drive shaft however doesn't fit on the diff properly. The diff has 50mm center to center on 'top' and 'bottom' of the square mounting plate and 45mm on the 'left' and 'right' side whereas the drive shaft has 50mm center to center spacing on all four sides. As a result only two of the four bolt holes line up. Can anybody tell me if this is a type miss match? (i.e. banjo diff with BW drive shaft?) Also due to legality issues with the locked diff does anybody know whether or not a LiteAce or Hilux diff head will bolt into the KE30 diff housing? And is there any length difference between a 4-speed and 5-speed KE gearbox? i.e. from bell housing to the rear end of the gearbox Regards Peter
