  1. pretty much but it may end up with a 1uz or something crazy like that in the near future
  2. Well the special managed ONE lap before puking oil out of every possible location. Still I would not call it a failure but not a rousing success either. on the grid waiting to go Starting line And away we go (mosey) some corners handled surprisingly well and this is the last photo before it puked oil it felt good suspension wise but power SUCKED flat to the wood all the way round and left foot squeeze for the corners
  3. it looks a tad different now
  4. I think the 3k is what this will have as I don't have a whole lot of confidence in this chassis holding up to much more (very rusty)
  5. I'm beginning to get a bit antsy. Sunday I will be debuting my Corolla in SCCA solo2 competition. I will try to get someone to take photos of the car while on course. Last time anyone saw photos of the car it was monochromatic hammerite brown. tomorrow I will take some photos of the car in full race regalia I really hope this thing works out to be a good race car.
  6. Tow car is ready to tow. I need to hook up the lights on the race car. as well as rebuild the carb and vacuum and and and and why does the list keep growing??
  7. Half the fun is the EPIC FAIL I'm just hoping I can pull off a lucky streak
  8. To Do list: Install modified MR2 seat=DONE Install race harness=DONE Install tow bar=DONE make and install divider panels =Wednesday repair the hole in the floor=Wednesday fuel filter= have two new ones rebuild carburetor=Wednesday Why is it everything comes down to the last minute?
  9. To Do list: Install modified MR2 seat Install race harness make and install divider panels repair the hole in the floor fuel filter and rebuild carburetor
  10. the car is still N/A but it is almost finished
  11. DANGIT I have to rebuild my carby before i can race and I have tons left to do on the car. I have a hole in the floor to weld a plate over, I need to find and install some thin metal where the back seat was, install the new racing seat, make mounts for the tow bar and I need to vacuum the whole car out. to top it all off I have to do this within two weeks or less so I can debut the car.
  12. someone convince me to keep this thing I am not finding any power and the turbo is toast so that is off the table for now.
  13. The 43kw is crank power here in the states the 3k is rated at 58hp. I think they are smoking some good stuff to get that much. My goals are conservative so if I make more power it will be a nice surprise.
  14. we did but California ate all the Starlets and turned them into 3tc turbo drag cars On the east coast there are few older toyotas and no Starlets I'll build this with parts I have laying around so it will be cheap (not low quality just low cost)
  15. The unfortunate thing about upgrading to a 4k or 5k is I live in the US and those engines did not really find their way here.
