On my Sprinter, With automatic box, as a red switch by the gear lever, that looks like it does not work because I do not see any ligth on the dash board going on and any diference on the car behavour, can sameone inform me about this and a solenoid that is on the ignition switch. The solenoid is disconnected, and if is connected the key does not came out.

 

Any solutions?

I'm just guessing here, but I would say that red button would let you take the car out of park without the key in the ignition so you could push or tow the car.
