But isn't the only difference there the ext housing length and not the shifter position.

 

Cross member is also different. A KE70 5 speed with KE70 extension housing will not bolt into a KE3x or KE5x

 

 

 

I understand the K50 boxes to be a bit different. I can state, having done it, that they wont swap on a K40.

 

Are you saying the K50 extension housings wont bolt onto the K40? Or that you can't swap a KE70 4 speed extension housing with a KE55 4 speed extension housing?

 

Because I know the K50 and K40 wont interchange.
