New Chump On Board

Well first off id like to give a hello to all. Second id like to say I found out fairly quick how hard it is to find parts online/in general for a mid 70's Corolla.

I say this because recently i bought a 1975 Corolla 2dr with the 1200 3k-c and a 4 speed. I tell you its the best $150 (Canadian) ive ever spent. Mechanically its pretty damn good. I just put a clutch in it which including machining ended up costing more then the car haha. Yes its rusty, the shocks are shot, the interiors a bloody mess and it didnt have a radio until i crimped one in. BUT i still love the friggin thing. All this is leading up to the accident i had not too long ago. I buggered up the drivers side fender reeeeal good and can't find one at any of the auto wreckers or jobbers on Vancouver island. I still don't know what I'm going to do with the car, but i know I'm not ready to let it go. If ANYONE has any information/websites that may be of use in finding a decently priced fender id be ever so grateful.

Thanks in advance Liam.

P.S I would love to show you all pics of the car, but i don't have a digital camera at the moment.

Hey man...good to finally see another Canadian Rollaclubber...and on Vancouver Island as well! Sweet...where are you at man? Victoria, Cowichan Valley area, Comox Valley? North, South? I might have a fender for ya...and some other goodies to! One of my rolla's is parting out...and I would like to strip it down as much as possible before it goes to a wrecker...need anything else?

PM me with your info, man!

Holy Jesus! What a stroke of luck! I'm in the heart of Victoria, Fernwood to be exact. I don't know if i need anything else, maybe a drivers seat. Its a pretty big beater and I'm still not sure what I'm gona do with it. Ive phoned pretty much every auto wrecker on the island and even a few places on the mainland. If you have a left front fender from a 75 to 79 i could definitely use it.

Thanks for replying!

Victoria, eh! Sweet.

I'm over in Crofton right about now, much to my disapointment. The car's gotta go soon though...I gotta free up the garage space. It's a 1600cc, but as far as I know everything but the motor and drivtrain are compatible.

I've got two left fender's here now...the one on the parts car (bottom rear area of the fender is pretty corroded, and the whole thing is spray painted crap black), and the one on my car (Badly rusted...bubbling paint and whatnot). I don't know if you still want one...but they're the best I've found yet. What's with the lack of old Japanese cars in the Island's wreckyards!!!

Anyways, if there's any other stuff you want, I could give it to ya cheapie cheap. How much can ya spend? :lolcry: You'd probably have to come out here tho...I don't think my rolla would like the Malahat too much right now...poor thing is barely running after it blew a hole through one of its pistons...I swapped out the ones in there with the pistons out of my parts car. It runs...not very happily but it runs.

More info man! Whats damaged, whats good? Need some help turning a few bolts? I'm bored stupid these days.

Well i don't care if its a bit rusty. I can fix that, the bigger problem is what the fender USED to bolt too. Its pretty messed up and will require some serious surgery to get it fixed. Ive taken it on the highway a few times and after i duck taped the fender to stop it from flapping in the wind, shes ready to go ahah. If you give me your number i could probably set something up for next weekend. Crofton is just past Duncan if my memory serves me correct and a little road trip would make things interesting.

I know what you mean with the wreckers. All of em just crush stuff once its been sitting for too long to make way for all the shitty 80's trash. Ive come across this problem with more then old Japanese stuff and it kinda bugs me. Any who i can't think of anything off hand i need, but if i see shit ill probably buy it ahha i have a bit of cash to play with, but not much.

Ohh and thanks for the welcome Woodstok makes me feel all warm and tingly inside.
