Hey guys.

 

Went to pick up my 82 rolla after the full re-build on Sat, big issue. The motor is a TRD Spec 20V Silvertop.

Once started the car has a very irratic idle, i mean it bounces from 1k - 2.5k.

Then when driven the car will accelerate normal untill 3500 rpm and the fuel will cut, and it sounds like it's at the end of the gear.

My sparky is having a look through the ECU, and we will start troubleshooting soon.

Any help or idea's will be awesome.

I have the same problem with mine except for the second part. I'm getting it fixed tomorow, ill let you know what the diagnosis is.

that would be awesome.

So does yours not have the lumpy idle or the fuel cut.

no the fuel doesnt cut out, only time the car cuts out is when the idling goes from high to low and it gets too low that its below 500rpm so sometimes i have to keep the revs up and then people think I'm a rev head lol.

Lol, fair enough. Well any feedback from the mechanic when you get yours fixed would be awesome.

Got the car back and problems fixed. I do not know if my problem is the same as what yours is but it sounds very similar epecially the first part.

Lookin on the tax invoice he has got "deadjust throttle cable to gain idle control".. Hope this helps

It looks like my sparky has figured it all out.

Apparently, the ignitor module was faulty, so we are just waiting for the new module..

Can't wait though, my car has been off the road now for 2 months.

Can't wait to drive it though.
