Sim Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Hey guys, needing to upgrade the brakes on the wagon when i get it, as its got ke55 sruts/disc brakes at the front and r31 skyline disc brakes at the rear which are attached to the r31 diff. with this current setup it has alot of trouble pulling up. what would be a good front strut to upgrade too? as i am interesting in converting to twin piston commodore brakes at the front and commodore brakes at the rear. how difficult would this conversion be and what would be required? also considering the front and rear stud patterns are different, fronts being corolla, rears being skyline, what changing to a 5 stud commodore pattern all round be worth while or should i keep it 4 stud? as long as the front and rear stud patterns are the same I'm not really all that fussed. thanks for any help. VHR32 Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 I don't know what wagon you have but R31 and KE55 have the same stud pattern. Commodore rear brakes are no better than R31 ones so I'd leave them. Just find a suitable disc and caliper and adapt to the KE55 strut. Or if youre fussy and want the hub locating section the same diameter fornt and rear and have your wheels fitting hub centric on the hub them get some R31 front struts as these fit onto some Corolla steering arms.
