June 22, 200818 yr comment_255063 hey guys ive just bought an 82 ke70 with extractors exhaust and a 32/36 sidedraught weber carb, its alright till i get to around 2 and a half grand to 3 and a half (not sure cause no rpm meter) and then it just crackles heaps etc.. I know that its running a bit rich cause of a bit of blue smoke and my eyes water when I'm in the engine bay or behind the car :( and i know that i need to adjust the carb cause its getting too much fuel when i put it the pedal to the floor cause it just looses all its power, not to carb ilitterate so could i get any tips on how to tune the carb please guys? thanks heaps Juggalo Edited June 22, 200818 yr by juggalo Report
June 22, 200818 yr comment_255069 Blue smoke is oil. Crackling sounds more like running lean to me, so does losing all its power. Possibly a blocked jet. Report
June 22, 200818 yr comment_255111 4k weber. to the floor,is this straight off idle. these carbys can deliver a lot of fuel. is it fludding, were do the secondaries ,kick in to early an the 4k just wont be able to suck it all down. find where they kick in,then have a drive. if it stops when ya hit the secondaries. as above maybe blockage. maybe that rich,it just floods to death. it s easy to tweek where they kick in. i normaly bring them on a little early. but this sometimes creates back fires ,stalling, big massive flat spots ya got keep ya revs up when ya take off.
