marvis Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 I have just put a 4k-c from a ke35(?) into my KE70 and the emissions from the carby are different.. It wont start, what do i need to plugged un/blocked off to have my car running? Thanks, marvis. Quote
marvis Posted July 6, 2008 Author Report Posted July 6, 2008 (edited) I have been looking really hard via search and it seems i need the vac adv (from dizzy) is this correct? Do i just plug everything else up? Or maybe a 3k carby as this is ment to have no emissions? Can anyone clear this up? Thanks, marvis. Edited July 6, 2008 by marvis Quote
marvis Posted July 6, 2008 Author Report Posted July 6, 2008 I found this picture... so i might have a crack at this setup tomorrow.. No one has any input? Quote
tas_ae71 Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 that is a weber^^ I'm not sure if the carb needs some of those vaccumes etc for it to run properly or not. you could also swap over the carb from the ke70 4k. i put a weber on my 4ac and ripped off all the emmisions, only run the advance to the dizzy. marvis Posted July 6, 2008 Author Report Posted July 6, 2008 (edited) I know it's a weber. I found a picture of a 4k with a normal carb (3k carb i think) with one emission line going from the dizzy to the carb.. Has anyone on here done this or anything similar? Edited July 6, 2008 by marvis Quote
bLinded_ Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 I found this picture... so i might have a crack at this setup tomorrow.. No one has any input? That would be my engine bay in that pic. Engine is a 4K-C but I removed all/most of the emission's gear when the Weber went on. All you need to do is connect the the Vacuum Advance from the dizzy and the fuel line and it should run. I'd say it should be pretty much the same idea if you are trying to use a 3K carbie as opposed to a Weber. I think there is a picture of Medicine Man's old Nikki carb set up on a 4K in the FAQ which I used to work out what emission lines could be blocked/removed. Quote
marvis Posted July 6, 2008 Author Report Posted July 6, 2008 (edited) Thanks mate, i just looked that one up. I will try that tomorrow as it currently does not have the fuel line one (?) connected.. I'm not sure if i have it in the correct vacuum on my carby (4k pretty sure, different from my other one) also, as it's different to the one i have in my manual and on my old 4k carby... marvis Posted July 8, 2008 Author Report Posted July 8, 2008 Picking up a 3k carbie tomorrow. This will bolt in fine etc? If this doesn't work I'll throw a match at it. Quote
bLinded_ Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 If the 3K one fails, throw a Weber at it. Piss easy to install and will do the same thing as the 3K carbie. Also, you should be able to pick one up for cheap and adaptor plates come and go pretty often. Quote
marvis Posted July 8, 2008 Author Report Posted July 8, 2008 (edited) Yeah i was thinking that also.. Or maybe it isn't an issue with the carbie :) Was looking at this one.. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Webber-Carburator-C...bayphotohosting I'll lets yous know. thanks, marvis. tas_ae71 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 seeing as your going to so much effort, i would have went to a weber :) Quote
marvis Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 Yeah ^ I'm going to take back the non working 3k carby and get this maybe. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Webber-Carburator-C...bayphotohosting People thoughts on it? Are they hard to set up? Quote
