Thats 27 people on the list... yes 27! 10 up from the last two years! We also have some members and friends making a day trip as well so that will boost our numbers for short periods once more.

Now for the trip itself.

Saturday the 24th Jan we will be starting our 3rd Great Ocean Road trip!

Our first meet point is at Waurn Ponds just out of Geelong (Melways Ref: 465 C5, corner princes Hwy and Sth Valley Rd). We will be meeting from 9am onwards with the aim to leave at 10am sharp. This is at the Apco Service station/maccas. Click the link to have a look...

We will then be making our way along the Princes Hwy to Camperdown for a rest/fuel break, then back on the road til we hit Warnambool for another quick stop. Then finally onto Port Fairy. The trip will take approx. 4 hours not including rest/fuel breaks and emergency stops etc. This should get us to Port Fairy by approx 3PM… if all goes well! Once were there we will need to setup camp and then we can have a look round town. If its nice and hot we can get out to the beach! Diner Saturday night will be at the local pub.

Sunday 25th Jan. Well… After our hopefully late night we will be getting up to be ready to leave at 10am. Breakfast for this day is provided, A team of expert egg and bacon burners will be cooking up a storm for everyone to munch on.

Were heading to Apollo Bay for the day via the 12 apostles, lunch should be a good one at another pub of our choice or we will sort something out… this is TBA.

Our trip back after a good days fun will be another good one. We have two options for activities on the way home.

We will be heading to Lavers Hill to hit the Otway Fly, this should be a great tree top walk. Hit Google and search for Otway Fly for a look. This is at a cost of $20 per person, less for students. The “Fly” is about 45mins towards Port Fairy from Apollo Bay via the Ocean Rd.

So Option one is to make the trip back along the Ocean Road and do the otway fly with whoever comes.

Option two is for those who haven’t had enough twisty roads… Skenes creek road is one of the most challenging roads that the area has to offer. Skenes creek is about 5 minutes towards Melb on the Ocean rd, skenes creek road then heads north for one wild ride. If you are keen on this run let me know and I will give you the rest of the details. Doing this road will most likely mean you will miss the Otway fly.

Upon returning to Port Fairy we will kick back and relax, organize dinner then settle in for our trivia night! Please bring your own chair if possible for the night, then get ready for a bit of fun and games. Location TBA!

Monday 26th Jan. Australia Day! Lets sleep in… but not for long. We have to be out of the Park by 10am. The town of Port Fairy has a great Australia Day celebration so lets join in!

Our trips home will be varied, after we have had enough of the sunshine we can sort out what we want to do then get to it! We will sort this out over the weekend so keep your ears out and listening.

Whats you get and what it costs.

Ok, for starters I need a $10 deposit from each person that would like to come. It is getting a little late to join but we are a welcoming bunch and if you would like to make the trip, let me know! The more the merrier!

The basic cost (including the deposit) is $40 for the two nights per person. This will include the camping site fees, a BBQ bacon and Eggs breaskfast for one morning, goodies bags for everyone and awards for those who win! It does not include fuel, food (bar the breakfast) and all other needs you may have for the weekend.

If you intend to join the group taking the Otway Fly you will need at least $20 for the walk itself.

What you need to bring

You will need as a bare minimum,

* Something to sleep in (eg. Tent, swag etc)

* Bedding to sleep in (it could be cold, could be hot, could even snow with our weather!)

* Clothes (including bathers for a swim and cold weather gear!)

* Torch

* Some food

* Tools

* Sense of humour!

* Water

* Chair

This is a minimum to bring, this will most likely be added to. If you would like more added to the list or have suggestions PM me or post it up in the discussion thread.

Thats all I have for the moment.
