Vaccum Connections On Carbies :s

Hi All,

 

It's me again with another possibly dumb question.

 

IOn my carbs I have a few vacuum connections, and I wanted to know what the vaccum connection on the top of the carb just below the lip for the airfilter is for. (# 2 in pic)

I have one on both of my Aisin carbs on my twin carb seyup. Also Why is it that only one of my carbs has the connection for the bottom vacuum that I believe goes to the Vacuum advance. (# 1 in pic) around there.

 

sorry for bad picture any help would be much appreciated. P.S I don't have as many vacuum lines as the one in the pic.
