January 10, 200917 yr comment_306396 hey I was going to put a 5k motor into my 1974 2 door KE25 coupe. I called regency and they said they think I need a brake upgrade first so I can legally transfer over the new engine number onto my rego sticker. What brake upgrade? How do I do it? What brakes etc? Anyone else had this problem??? cheers Report
January 10, 200917 yr comment_306419 I'd be chasing a firm answer from transport before I went any further. It shouldn't be a "I think" answer, it should be "yes" or "no". A bit like the answer you want to hear about the power before you jam a knife in a toaster. (This is a personal view, as Rollaclub in no way endorses placing a knife or any other utensil in a toaster.) Edited January 10, 200917 yr by Redwarf Report
January 10, 200917 yr Author comment_306432 Yeah the thing that has me confused it that i think they MIGHT have said my model of car has all drum brakes but I know that it doesnt. Did all KE25's come out with discs on the front and drums on the back? I heard I can pass with KE55 Front brakes so I'll try to find out about that Report
January 10, 200917 yr comment_306443 Very early 20's had 4 wheel drums. All 25's had discs on the front and drums rear. You can mount 55 discs and calipers to 20 hubs. When I get off my fat rectum, I've got all the pictures to do a how-to. Get someone who knows whats going on and get a proper answer. R Report
January 10, 200917 yr Author comment_306469 Yeah I'll give Regency a call again monday. When I called them they didn't really want to hear what I had to say and they were talking to me like I was an idiot so I just forgot about it. Redwarf if you have MSN, can you PM it to me? cheers Report
January 10, 200917 yr comment_306474 Redwarf if you have MSN, can you PM it to me? cheers That would require me to have some knowledge of technology. My refrigerator has more computers than my car. That should give you an idea of my skill level. Am happy to converse via PM's though, or in this thread. Report
January 10, 200917 yr Author comment_306476 hahahah ok cool man. I'll post back here after I call regency :( Report
January 12, 200917 yr comment_306993 Yes, call Regency, this time have a note pad handy to jot down what they tell you. I spoke to them about a 5k into my KE10 and they were very helpful, basically it needed a brake upgrade to Disc fronts. If you want a conclusive list, you will have to take it in and pay the 200 bucks and they will tell you what you need. Tom Report
