AJC Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Hi All, just finishing off a manual conversion. Does any one have pics of how the clutch cable mounts down on the gear box end?? thanks, Anthony Quote
philbey Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 I'm assuming its on a K series engine? The end of the clutch cable sheath is supposed to poke through a hole on the block. If you used an Automatic sandwich plate, there wont be a hole for it in the plate, so you need to drill it and get out the old round file. The spring tension on the clutch lever keeps it in place. If it's not a K engine, then I can't help. Quote
AJC Posted February 1, 2009 Author Report Posted February 1, 2009 Thanks Philby. Yes should have said its a K motor. There is a hole in the gearbox bell housing that looks to give about the right position, except the auto plate has that blocked off. I did not realise the auto and manual had different sandwich plates. I just wanted to check before I start drilling and filing. The end of the cable sheath looks to have a notch/recess to allow a c-clip to retain it in position once located in the bell housing. Thanks for your help. Anthony Quote
