Hi all, nice site,

I have recently picked up a stocko ke55 sedan off ebay, it is dual fuel and I have got it regoed (it only cost me $165 off ebay) its a 5 speed with air con.

things ive discovered:

misses on number four after 3-5 minutes of warming up. headgasket? sticky valve?

when i take off or compression brake i hear a clunk and the steering changes, I'm guessing the pivot bush on the rear springs needs replacing, at least one side needs it.

i am wanting to do something about power upgrade without having to get it engineered, or rego changes.

it handles like a dog atm, anything to stiffen it up would be great,

so I'm basically asking advice or how too's

thanks all

ben

four is usually the plug that fouls up and the worst worn piston, because that manifold runner is connected to the brake booster, and it sees different vacuum and mixture than the other three

i'd get custom lowered springs made, only marginally more expensive and you'll get a heap better result, most people consider aftermarket replacements too soft. rob and fook and i get our suspension done at pedders in geebung. i heartily endorse this event or product. i wouldn't go much heavier than 200lb/175lb (front/rear) unless you really know what you're doing and how to set the rest of the car up to suit, for example, fook runs 250/200lb on his ke35, but it's far from stock

for power, you can work your 4k on the cheap and get 100hp pretty easily without needing enginering. it will be a fun, overpowered and underbraked car that severely needs an lsd (pretty much where my ke25 is at). racing suited to corollas (motorkhana, hillclimb, rally, etc) is more about skill and suspension than outright power. if you just want to beat things on the street, time to start spending cash and talking to an engineer :)
