SKITZO_SUPRA Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 (edited) hi all I'm a newbie to this forum, after some help. bought a 93 Gti nice n cheap a couple of days ago, its the old dizzy driven fuel injected motor. Wanting to drop in 4agze with the extra cash i have left over. from tax return/sale of my other car. Wanting at this stage just to get it dumped in and running well, previously owned a MK3 supra which i dropped a 1jz into so have a fair bit of experience with conversions, but i wasn't sure of wiring. has anyone done this to this specific car before??? wondering bout wiring (getting front cut so ill have ecu loom and engine already hooked up tpgether) will i have any issues with the rest of the wiring, hooking up all auxillaries?? and i want to get a MAP sensored 4agze, so i can strap a mild turbs set up to it later down the track. can anyone give me the corolla model specific to this motor for when i go hunting for my front cut. any help much appreciated cheers Edited June 12, 2009 by SKITZO_SUPRA Quote
Bugzbarney Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Check out Twincam.org, more AE corolla based, and you'll find alot in regard to the conversion. The halfcut you want is a AE101 Levin/Trueno GZE, or AE92 Levin/Trueno but AE101 is more popular plus its newer. Also your car would be a AE92 CSi or SE. The GTi came out with a 4age already in it. Bugz. Quote

Bugz. He may have the 4age car, he didn't exactly say. If his car is a GTI hatch, he is laughing. Also he should get the ae92 4agze, as it is a direct swap with the loom compared to the ae101 (which has to be modified) if it is already 4age. Quote

True. bought a 93 Gti nice n cheap a couple of days ago, its the old dizzy driven fuel injected motor I just presumed he has a 4AFE, based on the quote, hence i would believe his car to be a CSi or SE AE92. But yeh feel free to correct me he may just be a worn out 4age hey.... Anyways, The AE92 4AGZE came out as both AFM and MAP, AE101 only came out as MAP sensored. AE92 4AGZE MAP Engines were available from 5/89, engines prior to that were AFM. Bugz. Quote

Maybe you should just throw money at the suspension and brakes first? Good quality shocks/ springs and some better swaybars etc before getting a new engine? This is what I would do if I hadnt blown mine/ had more money. Quote
