vagen
I managed to fire my Corolla and the 3K started leaking from what looks like the head gasket on the camshaft side. This engine has had a headgasket replaced and was not run till today. Will a re-torque help or am I doomed to pull the head?
philbey
Gday mate, can you get any pics of the offending oil leak? Some things that I notice on mine on that side that may be causing it (you would probably notice other issues if the HG was that bad) - Spark Plug tubes, if the orings are stuffed you will get oil. - Dizzy, I always seem to have a little oil pooling around, I suspect it's coming out around the dizzy seal - Rocker cover gasket, oil may be running down the "pooling" around your head gasket lip. I doubt it's the HG, you only one pressurised oil path passing through the Head Gasket where it feeds to the head. The low pressure oil return galleries would be very unlikely to cause the leak. It could well be the dizzy I'll have a closer look next time I go out to work on it. The oil I saw was at the rear of the head along the gasket but I didn't see anything running down from the spark plug tubes.
