Kid-Ae Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 I NEVER thought i would fall to the dark side.. But temptation reigned supreme.. Along with a minor price to pay =] 1993 EBII Ford Falcon GLi Silver (with a white bonnet) Alloys Air Con (works a charm) Cruise Control 4.0i Multi-point injected engine New Alternator New Radiator Tow pack Radio was chopped by third last owner :lolcry: All this for a meager $200 =] My plans.. Get it on the road (new tires, screen, rear brake rotors and handbrake adjustment) and then respray the bonnet silver, install a good stereo and then get my P's in April Pics up Tomorrow after i take them! =] Quote
Kid-Ae Posted January 8, 2010 Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 That's me :lolcry: Well.. seeing at the camera doesn't like me, it may be a little longer before pics are up. Managed to clean the mould and grime from most of the car and cleaned out the interior today. Came up nicely. Need a new parcel shelf cover and to have a look at the wiring for the door locks.. Can't lock the doors with the battery in from the drivers side, they decide to flick back up every time. Can lock from the passenger side though... Ah well. Good fun =] Tomorrow to arrange new tyres and a vicroads permit :jamie: Quote
Murd 55 Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 the doors would be related to the actuator obviously it isnt in a good enough position to fully pull and push the lock and there for unlocks it self again. Quote
Kid-Ae Posted January 9, 2010 Author Report Posted January 9, 2010 the doors would be related to the actuator obviously it isnt in a good enough position to fully pull and push the lock and there for unlocks it self again. Thanks! I'll yank the door trims off tomorrow and have a look-see Quote
Kid-Ae Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 Not much of an update really, but: Sorted out the Central Locking, was ONE wire that wasn't on correctly... Got the unregistered vehicle permit from VicRoads.. Yay for them.. Figured out the stereo wiring ;) Got free rear brake rotors, and Monday picking up full set of pads for $40 :) Saturday the car goes into Bob Jane for new tires and wheel alignment Then from there to the mechanic for a full service and tune Then down to a mates place to replace the brakes (drives okay, but won't pass a roadworthy) Have to organize a windscreen.. Where should i go?? Suggestions? Then to get the RWC. Shouldn't need anything else really. Quote
Kid-Ae Posted January 23, 2010 Author Report Posted January 23, 2010 Tires went on.. $300 for a set of four :y: Stupid dope at the service centre said "oh, you're front shocks are leaking".. "Ah.. They are weeping. Not leaking. Mechanic told me he'll still pass them through the roadworthy no fuss" "Oh, just thought i'd tell you" More like just thought i'd try suck more money from you.. Next weekend doing the brakes and taking the car in for a RWC  Vacummed the car out and found some tools.. SCORE :( Drives rather well.. Better still when it's serviced! Quote
Kid-Ae Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 Update! Stereo wired in! (subwoofer is up for sale!) Going in Friday for major service and roadworthy inspection. Will only need a screen and handbrake cable :D Quote
Kid-Ae Posted February 3, 2010 Author Report Posted February 3, 2010 Installed new primary handbrake cable myself ;) Brought second hand front struts for $70 a pair, installing in the next week or so. Only need to change the front uni, windscreen, and then fix the temp sensor as it's flooding the injectors and fouling the plugs a bit. Good fun :D Quote
Kid-Ae Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 So, FINALLY the car is at the mechanic getting sorted out for the RWC :) I am so pumped :bash: Will be picked up tomorrow with a little piece of paper, then off to VicRoads hopefully on Thursday for rego.. Stupid inspection fee and other crap means ill be paying $750 instead of $575.. Ah well, its all good. On another note, considering ways of increasing fuel efficiency (yeah yeah, buy a Toyota) as i'd like to not be emptying my bank account when i go to the pump. Ideas? When uni is a little less hectic, going to strip some more interior plastics and respray them, did a dummy job on the interior door handles in a machine grey, looked alright  Quote
