Ke70 + 1Uz

hey everybody, i own 1983 ke70dx, planning to build it for drift. Can smbd advice me if it's possible and reasonable to swap 4.0 1uz-fe from celsior inside? Did anyone do it before? How does it work and look? Are there custom turbo versions? Any information and advices will help a lot. Thanks:)

How much do you want to spend on the car ?

Can you do some of the work yourself ?

 

I'm fitting a 1uz to a jza80 at the moment and the owner of the car won't get much change from $10,000 after it's completely road legal. Your ke70 being a drift car you may not want it registered so that will cut the cost slightly.

 

I say do it but be prepared to pay a lot if you can't do it yourself.

As i suppose it will be smth like 10-15.000$, but surely will take a lot of time to get such money:) too much for a student like me xD.

Good news is i have a mate who helps me. We are to do all of bodywork ourselves, including weld, rebuild and install engine (i have only r154 grbx yet). So almost all work will be made myself.

As to registering, we have strange laws here in my country:) so if i decide it'll be not a big problem to make it road legal. But main idea to build it for competitions and weekend driving.

+ what should i do to get 400-450 hp from UZ? if i'm not mistaken it has 365hp in stock. As i suppose there will be no place for any turbokit. So what are the ways to power up?? Where can i find parts for it?
